This episode looks at awareness of thought.
We are not our thoughts. In fact - it is the entity observing our thinking about thinking who is our true being. Many of the thoughts we hold are mere constructions which allow us to be accepted by our 'tribe'. They are often illusions - defined as beliefs and opinions. Our social persona if you will.
The greater the degree to which we 'believe' our thoughts - the more conflict will develop between our beliefs and our actual self. That conflict causes stress and can lead to both physical and mental illness. Hence - it is critical that we intentionally question and consider our thoughts.
If we don't control our thoughts - they control us.
