Vikings Happy Hour

Moves made, players signed, Zimmer rejuvenated, but BPA? Mike Zimmer had his press conference this week and seemed quite happy. “When we looked at the defense after the season and evaluated it, it was pretty barren in there. So we had to address that.” But what about the O? ““Our offense has been pretty darn good,” Zimmer said. “They’re sixth in the league last year.” Did they? Darren and Dave will break it all down with you, so join us for some cross border talk on your favorite team, the Vikings.

Welcome to your Minnesota Vikings talk amongst Two Old Bloggers.

From the state of your Minnesota Vikings as they continue making offseason decisions… Big moves like the re-signing of Dakota Dozier, the second worst guard in the league last season, continue. Has it helped the offense? How about the Mason Cole trade? What grade you give the Vikings in free agency? Is the team better? What is now the Vikings strength? Take two Vikingsphere personalities, the great Flip Mazzi of Climbing the Pocket and Luke Braun from Locked On Vikings [and Locked On NFL] and throw them under the clock and let the hot takes fly.

“It’s time for Viking Hot Takes. The FAST MOVING Minnesota Vikings Talk Show. Today, we’ve got special guest Luke Braun from Locked On Vikings. We’ve got Flip Mazzi from Climbing the Pocket. SO Buckle Up, protect your kneecaps and Let’s GO!”

Flip asks:

1. Dakota Dozier is back??? Make it make sense.

2. Which side of the football has more talent? Offense or Defense?

3. What is you final grade for the Vikings 2021 free agency?

Luke asks:

1. Who is the least rational free agent you want the Vikings to bring in?

2. How many years can the Vikings manage their cap with restructures (i.e. without sustaining enough unavoidable losses as to destroy a season)

3. It’s a surprise! - Not even Flip knows.

The Climbing The Pocket Network’s and Daily Norseman’s ‘In The Huddle’ crew of various CTP personalities gathers to talk your Minnesota Vikings. Jayson Brown, Myles Gorham along with Dave Stefano will be there answering your Minnesota Vikings questions and talking what’s happening in free agency. Dakota Dozier is re-signed, Mason Cole traded for, the DB room grows with Patrick Peterson, Mackensie Alexander and Xavier Woods. What needs for the Vikes remain? What needs shored up? What rumors are we hearing? How do you feel?

We talked O-line and I went off on the ineptitude of this organization to fix the issue. This morning, I see this simple printed piece that shows where the QB pressures come from.

Per PFF, here’s the distribution of where pressure on Cousins came from last year (lower is better):

LT: 14.0% (2nd lowest)

LG: 26.1% (2nd highest)

C: 16.5% (5th highest)

RG: 25.0% (2nd highest)

RT: 14.8% (5th lowest)

QB: 15.3% (10th highest)

It is simple to see and simple to know where to fix… So the Vikings re-sign Dakota Dozier. “Hey Spielman! You’re doing it wrong!”

On tonight’s show:

- Dakota Dozier re-signing

- Breaking down Mason Cole

- The revamped DB room

- Current needs to shore up the roster
