Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to being beautiful… now. What does being beautiful mean to you? What will it take for you to recognize how beautiful you truly are right now? I need you to dig deep. Think of what makes you beautiful spiritually, mentally and physically.
You know, oftentimes we’re looking for change in order to be accepted. Change in order to be beautiful. Rather than just being beautiful the way that we are, we’re looking for permission to be who we are meant to be. Why is that? Perhaps it’s the thought process of what we must wear, things we must do, people we need to see and what we must look that determines our level of beauty. However, I’m here to tell that you’re wrong! The way to be beautiful right now is to just be you!
In Zedd’s hit song, “Beautiful Now,” the German DJ urges that in life everything isn’t planned out so although “we might not know why, we might not know how, but [just know] baby…we're beautiful now.” Stop prolonging your greatness. Stop procrastinating with your gift. You were destined to impact lives and to be an inspiration. Be present in the moment and step into your beauty.
Be your kind of beautiful now!

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to the stories you’re telling yourself. I need you to dig deep right now. How many stories are you telling yourself day in and day out? How many lies and excuses are there? When does it stop?
The key to happiness is being transparent with self. Note that I didn’t say with others, I implore you to be transparent with you. It’s time for you to take the song of despair, abandonment, “not good enough,” failure, ugly and so much more off of repeat or in some cases, throw the damn thing out the window! Those days are long gone. It’s time for you to be 100 with yourself!
Despite what you may think, you are enough. You are amazing, You are love and are loved. You are whole. You are complete. That is what and who you are. See if you weren’t, you wouldn’t be right here receiving this. You wouldn’t have the capability and/or the mindset to grasp what I’m telling you. Just like Dej Loaf sings in the hit song “Be Real,” when it comes to dealing with all the matters concerning you always tell yourself “let’s just be honest, let’s just be real” and know that you are nothing short of a masterpiece.

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to blessings on blessings on blessings! Regardless to whatever you’ve been through and what you’re going through right now, just know that you are blessed. Understand that it’s not about the obstacles that you face, it’s about the obstacles that face you. You know, you are a divine being, with a divine purpose. Whatever circumstances facing you shall fall. All you must do is stand. Your life is in your favor so use it to your advantage.
Everything that happens in your life is for the greater good of you and it’s important for you to realize that it’s ALWAYS good. Now, is it always pleasant? Absolutely not. However, it’s still all good because there is a “blessing in every lesson” (India Arie) you just have to keep your heart open to receive it. Don’t frown because it happened. Smile because you made it through. You made it through with more wisdom, more endurance and more maturity than ever before. So stay open.
Just like in the hit single, "Blessings," rapper Big Sean spits it’s in your willingness to stay open that “your stars align [and] you [have to] do [is] like the solar system and plan it out.” All you have to do is stand and push through. Keep pressing forward. Don’t just go through life, GROW through life and you will see how blessed you truly are.

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to knowing your self-worth. Who are you? What do you value? What do you stand for? These are only some of the questions you must ask yourself in realizing the value of who you are. The people you surround yourself with and the situations you find yourself in can tell you a lot about the person you are. So again, who are you?
Well, I can tell you this. You are loved and you are love. In order to know who you truly are, you must love yourself unconditionally. Loving everything about you is recognizing what’s good for you and what isn’t. Loving yourself out of situations that do not serve in the betterment of you. It’s about seeing everything that is “imperfect” about you as perfectly. Just as Reggae singer, Tarrus Riley belted in his hit song, “She’s Royal,” knowing your worth is about “not [being] afraid and ashamed” of who you are. It’s about embracing and sharing it with the world. In case you need a reminder of how beautiful and how royal you are.

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to slowing down. Many of us are running nowhere fast. Running around like a chicken with its head cut off, thinking that if we’re moving we’re going someplace. However, although we’re moving we’re lacking direction. We’re all guilty of it. Running just so we can get far from where we started, yet still so far from where we want to be. So, what do you do?
Slow down. Sometimes you just have to slow down to see where you are. To know where you are coming from. To know where it is you want to go. But most importantly, you have to slow down just so that you can rejuvenate.
Songbird India.Arie belts, in her thought-provoking song, “Slow Down,” that in life you can “wreck your future [by running] from your past” just by simply moving too fast. For example jumping into a new relationship, losing weight, looking for a job, cooking and the list can go on and on and on. Figure out what is best for you and understand that sometimes it takes time. Remember, you didn’t go from being an infant to where you are now overnight. It’s not about who’s the fastest in the race, but who can endure the race.
And guess what? The same goes with life….

Today’s dose of “Vitamin D” is dedicated to preparation. Are you prepared to take your life to the next level? Prepared to grow mentally, physically and spiritually? I want you to declare yes, yes and YES! It can be a cold world out there, but as long as you get “self” together you will be prepared to face any obstacle that comes your way.
Getting yourself together takes courage. It takes getting uncomfortable. It takes getting clarity on who you are and who you want to be as a person. God wants to bestow blessings upon blessings in your life, but if you are putting junk in your body, lacking forgiveness and not feeding your spirit He can’t use you.
We all have areas to work on, including me, but that’s why preparation is a PROCESS. You don’t have to have it “all” together. I need you to just want to be better. Want it so bad that it transforms your want into a need. I’m talking survival mode, so that you can have the abundant life you long for. Just like Philly’s sweetheart, Jill Scott, declares in her single, “Prepared,” I realize I need to see “where my head has been. And [apologize] to some people, [there’s] some bridges I [need] to mend. [Eat] more greens, get my body alkaline. [Let] some old ideals go and [make] room for my life to grow.”
Huh. What you say? Are you ready to make room to take your life to the next level? I know I am!
