In the autumn of 1882, the city of Sanford was shocked by a sudden murder and its subsequent trial. The details of the death, and what became of the victim, sparked a ghost story and awakaned a restless spirit along the lakes of central Florida.

In 1915, millionaire and highway innovator Carl Fisher aimed to complete a new project: a highway that stretched from Chicago to Miami. States would be scorned, drivers would be lost, and a new folly would be born.
