The Tampa Bay Rays played a sloppy game on Tuesday evening against the fourth-place Boston Red Sox. Two different leads were squandered as the Rays jumped to a 3-0 lead, then a 5-2 lead and saw both disappear. Vidal Bruján and Brandon Lowe were not at their sharpest with the glove but it was Vidal who seemed more shaky as it was not only one play that saw him affect the outcome negatively. The tie remained all the way onto extra innings where Erasmo Ramirez let in a run (ghost runner). After a Yandy Diaz walk to start the bottom of the 11th inning, Brandon Lowe smacked a three-run moonshot to put the Rays over the top.
