Sometimes the storms and battles of life don’t leave us standing, but leave us broken and immovable, not in the good way, but no one knows about those storms because they are not physical fights.

The adversary doesn’t want us to live in harmony with each other and wants us to dismiss the tender mercies of the Lord in our lives and the small gestures of love from a spouse who may not yet remember your shoe size or a friend who maybe is still trying to find a sitter so she can bring over the vacuum instead of calling to chat with you on the phone.

We are reminded by Elder Jeffrey R Holland that “imperfect people are all God has ever had to work with. That must be terribly frustrating to Him, but He deals with it. So should we. And when you see imperfection, remember that the limitation is not in the divinity of the work.”

Don’t allow the adversary to warp or taint the random acts of kindness from others and be grateful.

A bumper sticker’s quote repeated and made famous by Elder Dieter F Uchtdorf says “don’t judge me because I sin differently than you.”

I'll add another bumper sticker to our spiritual car that says “don’t judge me because I serve differently than you.”

I have been thinking about why I trust other people’s abilities to receive revelation for me, but I don’t believe or question the revelations the Lord sends directly to me?

I have never said “no” to a calling, so I guess I trust others to receive revelation from the Lord for me.

On the other hand, I doubt all revelation that comes directly to me because I think it's a weird idea that I just made up.

I have even been known to delay my response to revelation from the Lord and I say no way more than I say YES. Pretty sad huh? WHY IS THAT?

Elder Dale G Renlund quoted Nelson Mandela saying, “a saint is a sinner who keeps on trying.” 

Gaslighting can lead someone to lose their sense of self and cause further trauma through Self-Betrayal.

After the betrayal of a spouse it’s normal to feel defeated, devastated, depressed and stuck. I know, because I did for a long time, there are certain stages of trauma we have to go through in order to heal.

I’ve heard women have Letters to God Journals, Dump Diaries, Burn Journals, Gratitude Journals, Google Docs journals or Journals on their iPad on Good Notes (that one is my fave actually) but no matter what you call it or where you write it, it will be a blessing if we do it. 

So, just like the Nephites, (in 3 Nephi 23) if you haven’t written down this major event in your life yet, it’s ok, it's not too late, just go back and start writing now.

The Lord promised “I will not leave you comfortless” (John 14:18) Sometimes we are just so focused on our pain that we don’t see how much we are being carried.
