One of the most fabulous Oscar winners in recent years is Mo’Nique– last year she won the Best Supporting Actress award for her stunning portrayal of Mary Jones, the vicious cruel mother in the critically acclaimed film “Precious: Based on the Novel ‘Push’ by Sapphire.”

Her husband and writing partner Sidney Hicks recommended she take the unusual role because he felt that the film would have the power to save lives, but Mo’Nique was stunned when she discovered that playing the horrible character would save her own life.
