IN THIS DARKIVE EPISODE WITH STORIES FROM JUNE 2018: It was John Wilkes Booth who assassinated President Abraham Lincoln… but Booth had an assassin as well, coming after him. (The Man Who Murdered The Assassin) *** Many haunted locations are popular with ghost hunters and fans of the paranormal – but what if your business is being destroyed because ghosts are scaring off your customers? (Popular Australian Tourist Attraction Has a Ghost Problem) *** Imagine having a strange dream about being in the hospital, and the doctors taking a blood sample from you – then you wake up in bed to find a needle mark in your arm? And your spouse has one too! (What Happened To Us) *** A contractor tells his personal story of a strange creature he came across while working with the U.S. Navy and NATO in 1954 Spain. (Reptile Confrontation) *** We’ve all had songs stuck in our heads at one time or another – but what happens when it’s a name that gets stuck in your brain? A name you haven’t heard in decades? (Nick Adonidas) *** Beverly Allitt was a children's nurse… and also one of Britain's most notorious killers. (Angel of Death: Inside the Mind of a Serial Child Killer)

IN THIS EPISODE: On January 1st, 1091, an army of the dead came to Normandy. For one priest, it would be a night that he would never forget. (The Medieval Walking Dead) *** Despite what we are led to believe from movies and television, cemeteries, graveyards, and churchyards, are actually quite peaceful places with no reason to be haunted anymore than any other plot of land. They are, in fact, meant to be resting places – not restless places. Repton Village chuchyard in Derbyshire apparently never received that memo. (The Ghosts of Repton) *** Office romances are nothing new. Sadly, neither is sexual harassment in the work place. And apparently in the 1800s, a forty-something boss could try to seduce a 15-year-old worker. And if you guessed that didn’t turn out well for anyone, you’d be right. (A Weight of Grief) *** Men, admired and emulated Camille Flammarion, and many a woman swooned over him. Which is kind of an odd thing if you think about it – seeing as the man was consumed by thoughts of death. (The Mystery of Death) *** What is it like after we die? Is there life after death? And can science ever get onboard with the idea despite testable evidence? (Life in the Afterlife)

Please SHARE Weird Darkness with someone who loves paranormal stories, true crime, monsters, or unsolved mysteries like you do! Recommending the show to others helps make it possible for me to keep doing the show!

IN THIS EPISODE: The creature had dark or black skin covered in masses of “skin or fins” that looked like algae growing all over its body.  It seemed to have gills or matted hair that looked like gills on its face and head; two yellow eyes leered out from under a prominent forehead.  That’s the description one witness had for the thing in City Park, New Orleans. (The City Park Thing) *** Anyone who knew the little family before that July day would say that one thing was certain, Vernon Plager loved his wife and daughter more than anything.  But then Paul Reed moved to the neighborhood, and it led to more than just a broken marriage… it led to murder. (Wrapped in Ivy) *** The moose is said to be a ghostly white and a giant of stature and weight, antlers bigger than any other moose ever seen. Considered a harbinger of doom, it was first reported in 1891… but has been seen as recently as 2002. Could this giant, ghostly moose at Lobster Lake, North Dakota actually have existed – or still exist? (The Specter Moose of Lobster Lake) *** For the citizens of Brabant Province, Belgium, the era of the Brabant Killers, left behind traumatic wounds that have never really healed. Making matters worse is the fact that the killers were never brought to justice. (The Killers of Brabant) *** These stories and more in this episode!

IN THIS EPISODE: True unexplained stories about prank phone calls and mysterious harassers have always been the bread and butter of horror movies. But what happens when an unnamed creep starts making scary prank calls in real life? What about a loved one calling you from the site of a train crash – where they died moments before calling you? A dead girlfriend sending you a private message on Facebook? Or an email from a deceased friend?

HOUR ONE: Some believe the Ouija board is a harmless game – others feel it is a paranormal, evil portal to allow entry into our world of ghosts, dead relatives, and even demonic entities. How dangerous is the Ouija Board? (Ouija Board Dangers) *** On April 12th, 1961 the first man to ever make it into space was a Russian cosmonaut by the name of Yuri Gagarin. He is considered a hero to his country, and an inspiration worldwide to those who are fascinated by space travel. But what few do not know is that there is a theory that there was someone before Yuri Gagarin – and the story has been kept a secret. (The Cosmonaut Conspiracy) *** Apparently, if you want to have a satisfying life, it’s best to not have the name Elizabeth Brewer. I have two stories completely unrelated except that at the center of each sombre tale is a woman named Elizabeth Brewer. (Two Terrible Tales of Elizabeth Brewer)

HOUR TWO: Hollywood actress Mary Astor was the flame that began a firestorm sex scandal… a story so hot that it made front page headlines. (The Purple Diary Scandal) *** A night watchman gets into a fistfight with a ghost! (Phantom Fistfight) *** The murder of Rose Ambler has gone unsolved for well over a hundred years. No one alive at the time is alive today, but still, for law some in law enforcement in Connecticut, as well as amateur and professional detectives alike, it’s a case that keep drawing them back. (Murder at Raven Stream) *** Some say she was an old hag, while others say she was a polite and beautiful old woman. But townsfolk were terrified of her either way, because everyone knew Moll Dyer was a witch. Whether she was or not, what transpired around her and to her has caused something of the paranormal. (Moll Dyer Was a Witch) *** What do alien abductions, poltergeists, and holistic healing have in common? You might be surprised to see how they are connected. (Healing Paranormal Abductions)

IN THIS EPISODE: On June 13, 1977, Camp Scott, a Girl Scout camp that was located in the wooded hills near Locust Grove, Oklahoma, opened for its 49th season – the season that would turn out to be its last. At some point in the dark of the night, three young campers were brutally murdered in their tent. The bodies were discovered by a counselor the next morning. It became a summer of horror and tragedy and it left behind a mystery that has never been solved. As well as an abandoned camp about which stories of ghosts and hauntings are told.

IN THIS EPISODE: It’s “Death in the Bayous” from The Hall of Fantasy. There is some conflicting information about the show itself, in that some sources say it ran on the Mutual Broadcasting System from August 22, 1952, until September 28, 1953 – but another source says the episode we’re about to hear ran on March 09, 1947 on the CBS network. Either way, it stars Michael Bruce, Beth Colter, Carol Moser, Ken Jensen, Richard Thorne (who was also the producer and director), Mel Wyman is the announcer. The story was written by Robert Olsen and the original music for the episode is by Earl Donaldson. It’s the story of a new bride who returns to her friend's old mansion down South on her honeymoon and finds quicksand, murder, and madness.
