In this episode, we talk to the one and only, Sean Flottmann AKA @dabswellington
Dabs is well known for his IG and Tik Tok's making TIG art and his sense of humor. I talked with him about his role as community outreach coordinator at American Welding Academy in Missouri. He's also involved with Rock the Trades which is an initiative of Surehand that showcases advocates of skilled trades and helps encourage the younger generation to seek jobs within these industries. If you ever have any questions, he's happy to help, so shoot him a message!

The one, the only... WELD ZOMBIE! What can I say about this guy? He kind of took me by surprise. I noticed him on Instagram and saw that he had his own Weld Zombie welding gloves, a custom MIG CUP and just some really great ideas for the industry! I had to find out more about who was behind these ideas and understand how he came up with them. He has a unique story with experience growing up on the rig and then structural steel. We talk about everything from handling massive I-beams, the thought process behind making products for welders by a welder and also some suggestions for must have tools if you are working on structural steel.

A few weeks ago, I met Craig Cowan at The Barefoot Forge. I found him by looking up the #pittsburghwelding to find someone local to me to visit. Little did I know that I was going to be exposed to a whole other side of the industry, the maker community. Craig not only offers intro to welding classes, he also has date night/girl's night classes such as making a rose, a railroad spike bottle opener and his most popular Damascus wedding rings. Couples can actually travel to his location (which is about to be an even bigger space) and create their own set of wedding rings. It is one of the most creative ideas I've ever heard and just makes the meaning of the ring so much more. We are excited to get more involved in the maker community and share more about forging, woodworking and how that applies to welding and everything in between!

We have an exciting episode this week featuring Tom Patsis from Cold Hard Art based in Brownsburg, Indiana. Tom was a contestant on the Netflix show, "Metal Shop Masters" and I couldn't help but binge the whole season in a day. If you didn't finish, don't listen to the end of the podcast quite yet. Tom has a very interesting story from making 330 mph race cars and working on the race tracks, working in a fab shop and then going full time making Cold Hard Art! He's a really passionate guy (and a girl dad) who loves making replica cars, trophies and other cool art. He talks about his experience on the show and I hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did! As his CEO, Luna, would say, that's my friend Tom! We hope that this show on Netflix serves as a way to get more younger people interested in skilled trades! Find Tom on IG @coldhardart
Really excited to have a guest who shares tips about TIG art and a great cause! Meet Mitchell Moore AKA @dabndaddo AKA "The Onesie Welder". Mitchell is a down to earth guy who has an extensive background in welding aluminum and has welded since he was a freshman in high school. He shares how he got started in TIG art and some advice for anyone interested in getting started. P.S. you need a chill block.
We also are excited to share about "The Hooded Heroes Foundation". Their mission is to be a hand up, not a hand out to students who are in a financial position that doesn't allow them the proper PPE necessary for welding class. For more information, you can visit https://www.thehoodedheroes.org/ to learn how you can give back to the welding community or if you should have the need to apply for help as well. Find Mitchell on Instagram at: https://www.instagram.com/dabndaddo/ and The Hooded Heroes: https://www.instagram.com/the_hooded_heroes_foundation/ Keep an eye out for upcoming raffles and other ways to give back!

This week, the founder of the Welding Women Syndicate, Tiffany Noel Orff and I really dig into some hot topics surrounding women in the industry.
