Today’s tip is for those chasing longer distances. One mistake that people often make when training for a half marathon or marathon is to simply just run more often, and for longer. It might surprise you but to get the most enjoyment out of hitting these momentous distances you actually need to have short, fast runs in your week. Over to Omar Mansour & Rory Knight of Track Life LDN to explain why speed training and pacing is key to hitting your PB goals.

Coming up is a snippet from an interview with writer, activist, television presenter and model Katie Piper. Back in 2009 Katie bravely went on TV to document her experience as the victim of an acid attack that left her needing pioneering surgery to restore her face and vision. Today, she’s a mum of two young girls, and juggles motherhood with work with regular runs. She’s an advocate for using physical fitness to help strengthen her mental fitness and that’s what we discussed on the podcast. A quick note to say that I recorded this show before the pandemic when running was a social not solo sport.

Welcome to Monday's session of Well Far Daily, your dose of running guidance and tips with me, Amy Lane. As it's the start of the week we thought we'd pull a clip from an interview with Emma Kirk O’dunubi, a footwear specialist, sports scientist and running coach. During the show that aired in season one, I asked Emma if shelling out on new running shoes really is a necessary expense for those beginning a new running plan.
