Do you have a hard time turning off your thoughts when you have a day off or when you are trying to fall asleep?  In this episode, we share our stories of our own problems with allowing ourselves time to relax without guilt or shame.  We are both still learning to let go of the "shoulds" when we have a day off or when we want to enjoy some time for ourselves.  We recognize that we are both more productive when we give ourselves a break from all the things on our to-do list. We give some tips that have worked for us.  What can you do to turn off your brain and relax?

In this episode we explore the quote, "You're always one decision away from a totally different Life" (YourTango) and how we have seen this in our own lives.  Following our last podcast on "What ifs", we discuss that even following through with the tiniest decision can start the process of change in life even when it is uncomfortable or scary.  We have to start somewhere.  Where are you willing to start?

In this episode, we talk about healthy decision making and what can get in the way of healthy decisions.  We go through the process of making good decisions and we discuss how when we avoid making a decision, we are still making a decision even though it is a passive one.  When we are unable to make a healthy decision, we can get "stuck" which can lead to anxiety and depression.  We reference the self-help book, Set Boundaries, Find Peace: A guide to Reclaiming Yourself by Nedra Glover Tawwab which gives examples and questions to help guide you through the decision-making process with healthy boundaries.  When a decision is being considered, we encourage our listeners to think "What is the worst thing that can happen if I make this decision?" and "Can I live with that?"  We also explore turning the negative "what if" thinking into more positive "what if" thoughts to change the negative mindset.  Listen and grow in healthy decision making!

In this episode, we look at how we have had to redefine our own vision of ourselves as our lives have changed and as we have met some of the goals that were a part of past visions.  We admit that there are times when we are focused on a vision that keeps us going and helps us in the moment, but which can change as our own lives and roles change.  It can be confusing and even give us a sense of a loss of identity until we reevaluate our vision to fit the next chapter in our lives. We need to recognize our growth and readjust the vision.  What is the vision you see for yourself and where do you need to adjust your vision?

In this episode, we interview the amazing, Hannah Brian, who is a 1st Lt. in the Air Force.  She is a 25-year-old dynamo who is in charge of over 450 personnel on an Air Force Base in Destin Florida, overseeing the mechanics and maintenance for F35 fighter jets.  She has her degree in Aerospace engineering after participating in ROTC.  She has never let fear hold her back and actually said she doesn't really feel fear, she feels excitement when facing something new or challenging.  She heard the quote, "A ship is safe in the harbor, but that is not what a ship is made for" and has lived by this motto for her entire life.  She embraces new situations and loves to try new things in new cities. In this episode, we explore how to find ways to enjoy the Holidays even when we are struggling with less than joyful things from difficult emotions to difficult family members.  We go through a plan for peace for the holidays including taking time for yourself, recognizing your priorities and understanding triggers for your emotions while allowing yourself to "feel your feels".  We look at the importance of laughter and having a support person in your life. We all need a refresher course on how to navigate the holidays while having the insight that the holidays will be over before you know it.  Enjoy the moment and find ways to embrace the moment!

On this week's episode, we reflect upon the past year as we finish up our second year as co-hosts for our podcast Cheeky Vibe Peaceful Life.  We recognize that even in the toughest year, we can find blessings and joy.  We share some of the obstacles we each have overcome and we share how these difficult situations have led to growth and positive change in ourselves.
