Following George Floyd’s death, protestors took to the streets globally, to make a stand against police brutality and discrimination.
In some areas of the US, these protests turned violent and gave rise to widespread looting, destruction of buildings and clashes with police.
Now over two months later, protests in most cities have calmed, but there are areas like the US city of Portland, where tensions remain high, and daily protests continue to be violent. As a result, President Trump has called in federal agents in an attempt to stop violent clashes with police.
But as the protests keep going and the Black Lives Matter movement continues to make headlines around the world, there are concerns that the movement is being subverted from its original meaning and hijacked by the far left.
In this interview, I talk to rapper, podcaster and author Zuby. We discuss how he got into music while at Oxford University, hip hop, free speech and if the BLM movement has been hijacked.
