Ep 83 // What Esther Teaches Us About Fasting for Position and Influence

We are in series on prayer and fasting during the month of October 2024. God has asked me to be obedient to this invitation to learn more, experience deeper intimacy and encourage you all to do the same! 

Ep 80 - is a great introduction to this experience. Ep 81 - shares 8 reasons fasting brings incredible breakthroughs. Ep 82 - looks into Daniel 9 and fasting as a form of personal and corporate repentance. And today we’re looking at Queen Esther! 

In this episode we will explore:

• A brief synopsis and overview of the book of Esther

• The enormous risk to Esther if she approached the King uninvited

• How Esther and Mordecai model prayer and fasting as preparation for a move of God as they ask for His mercy

• How you can take the truth of Esther’s model into your life and experience more than you could ask or imagine

Reflection questions you’ll ask yourself in this episode:

• Where are you positioned in the world where you have influence?

• How are you sensing God calling you to use your voice and advocate for oppressed people? Does it feel risky to do so?

• What promises has God given you? What truth about His sovereignty and faithfulness do you need to tuck into your heart today?

• Ask the Holy Spirit to speak to you about your fasting experience. What practical ideas does He give you to fast from? If it’s not food - what else could it be?
