What the hell is up? W$LF SHIT -- that's what's up. That is, Seattle-based rapper L$P who's churning out soul-vibing, beat-crushing rap tunes like none other. I met Papi over the summer and had the privilege to sit down and talk with her about her latest EP, Den Music, which takes listeners on a journey of self-healing, community and triumph. As a Black, masculine-presenting queer woman, L$P defies expectations of how to exist in the world. She's taken experiences of battling depression and facing oppression and created a musical experience for those seeking healing and solidarity. She has a powerful message about self-preservation for all to hear who are willing to listen. In my cozy home studio, we chatted about her music, life and what it means to "fuck up the city and call it a vibe". Listen in, stars.

Elyse has a way of following her passions while still caring for herself in the process which became imperative as she navigated the Seattle indie music scene after a new diagnosis of Celiac disease. She still manages to live off the music, baby, and will continue to grace Seattle with a fan girl spirit, which I keenly understand. Hello lovelies! What the hell is up? Today I share with you...bonus episode ONE. This is a shorter episode which will emerge every other week in between interview episodes. When I first started making this podcast, my process was cathartic and self-reflective. A lot has changed in my life recently and the need to connect with myself has been strong--WHAT better way to do that then sharing it audibly with you all (LOL)!! Okay, but seriously, I hope that these bonus episodes can provide more of my personal story driving the artistic conversations. May these episodes also inspire care of self and provide some brief meditative words from my own daily practices. Today's episode features words from Thich Nhat Hanh's "No Mud, No Lotus" and "How to Love".

What the hell is up? Today's episode features Cotto, a Seattle-based producer who works at Studio Sage. We sat down to discuss his beats, production work and what it's like to work at Sage. Against the backdrop of his album Sounds by Cotto, you'll hear his story and--along the way-- our random-ass, giggle-laden thoughts about music and art. Of all the artists I've met, I don't think I've ever met someone as obsessed with their craft as Cotto. Not only are his beats absolute fire, but his commitment to creating will take him to ridiculous places. I had so much fun creating this episode, in part because the vibe of Cotto's beats have been comforting and inspiring to me throughout my summer. What the hell is up? Today's episode features Joe August, a musician and music therapist, in a conversation we had back in May. I wanted to ask him "what the hell is up with being a rock star and a music therapist?!". In other words, I was curious about Joe's relationship with independent artistry and healing work. During the episode, we discussed his upcoming full length album "Modern Sound of Quiet" which came out on July 6th and features the singles Lotus Flower and Next Year. Joe and I discussed his musical influences, inspiration, and the meaning he finds in providing music therapy as a healing modality for the clients he works with. With classic 60s psych-rock influences and themes of finding stillness in the overall chaos of media which we often experience, his new album absolutely grooves. In this episode, you'll hear the songs Paradise (with Afterspace), M.S.Q., Lotus Flower (with Chase Rabideau) and Fool For You (with Alec Shaw & Zan Fiskum). In today's episode, I sat down with Michaela Banks, creator of Sweet Sweet Justice -- a weekly cake auction where all proceeds go to organizations working toward racial justice. While first inspired by Michaela's ability to gracefully combine her passion and purpose while also working as a Registered Nurse, I walked away feeling inspired by the idea of participating in anti-racist work in an embodied way. We talked about ally-ship as white women and about some of the nuances of her experience operating this platform--we're diving deep today friends! AND talking about cake!

 In today's episode you'll hear the song Mercy by Marshall Law Band, which is a Seattle-based Funk-Hop band led by Marshall Hugh and backed by a 5-piece band. The Marshall Law Band could be seen creating empowered vibes during the BLM protests of 2020 and they continue to grace Seattle with loving and hopping tunes at outdoor concerts throughout the summer at "Fremont Friday's".
