Whats Next!? Podcast

My name is John Ross Dike and I'm having a kid in July! If the Lord says the same not a second earlier. I didn't really vibe with the name Baby D at first but it has since grown on me! I like it now. It was a name given by my mother - in- law and that's her grand baby! LOL! So let me first start out by saying that my Lodge brother's name is Will not Wayne, I messed Wayne Willis's name in episode 2 and now in episode 7 I'm messing up my lodge brother's name, my fault.... SO, I'm back, I have and am trying to remain consistent but last week I was emotionally drained because of being a scumbag husband! I reminded my wife of her birthday and failed to have anything planned! Needless to say I was in the dog house and didn't feel motivated to do anything artistic. I have since fixed my errors and know now to never make the same mistake! I talked about that mind frame on this podcast as well as about my kid. I am excited to be becoming a father. Getting married, going to New York, seeing myself on film are amongst a few of those other bucket list things. I will be in a stage play on April 13th so if you're reading this I am selling tickets until April 11th. I'm also going to squeeze in a short film in May right after school ends. It will be dedicated to my kid! LISTEN MEN HAPPY WIFE, HAPPY LIFE... WORD!!

We used to argue all the time who was the best emcee. Those conversations used to be the talk of the towers when we were at University of Houston in 2004. I always stood for Nas and I always will. He believed in Wayne, not a bad choice however Wayne its Nas! Fast forward 11 years he was asking me to check out his work although he had started rapping in 2011. I say all of that to say that the level of respect I have for Roger is enormous. The act of beginning something new something different is not an easy one; Not to mention the added pressure of sharing your talent with the a friend in hopes that they would see in it what you do. Tre Rogers has just released his new single named Marathon which is now streaming! We discuss his journey and where he got his start from! Fifteen years is a long time to know someone. Everything changes, hair styles, bodies, careers and goals but the genuine time that you and family have stays forever! Ashley Odom the creator of Omazing Occasions features on episode 5. We learn that she is still in education but serves in a different capacity that the classroom in the form of the Thurgood Marshall College Fund. TMCF serves the 47 publicly funded HBCU's across the country. As a creative Ash started off making a Diaper Cake and that spawned Omazing Occasions. In episode 1 of my podcast, I stated that I was an actor! Although poetry gave me an entry into artistry; acting at the age of 26 (JAY Z said that on Watch The Throne track 6 'NEW DAY') made me decide that that was what I wanted to do in my life. I take you back to Circa 2010 or 2011 when I auditioned for a part in an independent stage play that featured poetry. That was my first interaction with my sister Contrina Jenkins Buggs. From there we would go on to work on a few other projects together. This episode is about talking to Jala about her obstacles, barriers, failures and successes. We look at two of her independent films and discuss the make up about them. So I didn't remember to finish that quote in the intro part of this episode. Mal from The Joe Budden Podcast said "You can't force creativity" So I am fully aware that EP2: is month and some change late; however you can't force creativity and I understand that more and more each day! Here's a quick story, Wayne was referred to me to print some stuff for him. I have a small pressing company and we specialize in being open 25/8 and as well as same day delivery. When Wayne and I met for him to get his clothes, I asked him to be on the podcast. Needless to say it didn't happen. My podcast is finally here it only took me re-recording the podcast and having to go to the Southwest for a decent wifi connection. Listen... I am about to have my first child, I am in the second year of my marriage and I just launched my production company!
