In his recent piece for Foreign Affairs, Radek Sikorski, Polish Member of the European Parliament, argued that Europe was "all bark and no bite." Despite its many attempts to get serious about its security, the EU nation states lack a unified defense policy, all act in defense of their own national interests, and would eventually lose its status as a superpower. On this episode of The Eastern Front, Giselle, Dalibor, and Iulia invite Sikorski to share more of his thoughts on the EU's defense industry. Can the EU develop a common foreign and defense policy without any national leadership? And if the Balkan wars, Georgia in 2008, Ukraine in 2014, and the 2022 full-scale invasion weren't enough for the EU to hold a common threat perception around Russia, what would it take for it to act as a unified front?
