Lakey has been wanting to do a healing ceremony for 13 years now and he found one on the Hinterlands on the Gold Coast. He describes the weekend as an “Amazonian plant medicine healing ceremony”. Finally committing and booking it in he went up to the Hinterlands where there were around 20 others from “all walks of life” to do the ceremony over the 2 days.

The medicine they give you helps the body ‘purge’ and some people move uncontrollably making it look like an exorcism. However, when Lakey was given the medicine nothing happened.
