Over the past few decade, financial empowerment has been one of the core guiding principles in my mission and business. So when the opportunity to become the Director of Financial Empowerment at Empower, a non-profit organization working with the Hispanic community in Wichita found me in late 2023 something inside me clicked. In this episode, I’ll take you to meet the incredible team behind Empower and share how this experience has re-shaped the way I think about money and community. Shall we dig in?
If you’ve been listening to this podcast for a while, you know that financial empowerment lies at the heart of all I do: from the products and educational content I create to every speaking engagement or consulting call I’ve ever been involved with.
However, as it happens with all the beliefs and definitions we hold dear, I never really questioned if my definition of financial had room for growth. Not until early in 2024, life’s twists and turns put me in front of Empower, a non-profit doing grassroots work in a historically Hispanic neighborhood in Wichita.
Fast forward a year (and a few months) later. If I had to summarize my experience in a few words, I would only need three words: what a ride!
In today’s episode, I want to give you a full BTS into the heart of an organization that is doing incredible work for the Hispanic community and creating some real, lasting empowerment.
