This week Diosa and Mala discuss why it's so common for women, especially Latinas, to be misdiagnosed or under-diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). They're joined by Angelica Diaz, an associate marriage and family therapist, who specializes in late-diagnosis of autism and ADHD in the Latine community. Together they discuss how marianismo and machismo are partly why Latinas get under-diagnosed.

Palm trees are a synonymous symbol of Los Angeles. From the beaches, to Hollywood, and LA skyline. This symbol of the city has a deeper and more complicated history than most of us know. This week, Diosa and Mala dig into the roots of the palm tree: native, transplant, and displaced, and how a new documentary, Las Palmas, connects that story to the current immigration crisis.
Starting October 7th, we're launching the 100 Days to 100K campaign to fund the Las Palmas feature film. The campaign will culminate in a screening and fundraiser in early 2027.
About Las Palmas: This short film explores the social, political, and emotional impacts of the displacements of Latine communities currently happening in the streets of Los Angeles.

This week on Locatora Radio, Diosa sits down with podcast creator and executive editor, Maria Garcia, to unpack the Spicy Latina trope, it's origins, and the complicated reasons we sometimes identify with these characters. Think: Salma Hayek in Fool's Rush-In.
Maria is the host and producer of a new podcast: Muy Excited with Maria Garcia, a new podcast exploring the moments that shape pop culture.
Together, they get into some pop culture moments like why the media owes Britney Spears an apology, how JLO sorta pushed back on the spicy Latina trope, and the evolution of said trope.

This week, Diosa and Mala discuss the harrowing case of Lindsay Clancy, a Massachusetts mother on trial for the murder of her three children. Behind the sensational headlines and viral content, there's a devastating and complicated story: Clancy's defense claims she was suffering from postpartum psychosis, a condition that affects about 1 in 1,000 new mothers. In this episode, las Locatoras discuss maternal healthcare, healthcare inequities, and why community care is so important when systems fail to keep us safe.
