Most teams in a tractor trailer, know one another. Many time over, a team consists of a husband and wife or a brother and brother or even a friend and a friend. These teams tend to last longer than a team, that is made up of two strangers.

There are companies that with team two people up, that have never met prior to orientation. This can be a disaster when the two have nothing in common. For example, one might like it warm in the truck and the other, cold. One might want to smoke and the other, not. There are many issues that can set off a war inside a semi.
