The Show

Bitcoin is the BJJ of Money

The power of Brazilian JiuJitsu is in its use of leverage and body mechanics to create a System that is at the same time ruthlessly effective, efficient and infinitely variable and individually provable with a feedback loop.

It allows the practitioner to see a technique and then try it out on a resisting opponent in real time to ascertain if it actually works or not.

This concept can be encapsulated in 3 words...

Don't Trust. Verify.

The strap line used by Bitcoin!

Wanna find out whether Bitcoin really is the BJJ of Money?

Wanna get Orange Pill'd?

We are in the middle of the Adoption 'S' Curve.

The Show

Sometimes you meet people who Radiate with the power of the Human Spirit, and force you to re examine what you're capable of doing - James Hazel is such a person.

James is an above the knee amputee who lost his Leg in an almost unbelievable motorcycle accident the details of which are too crazy to list here (but are of course all in this episode).

After an event that could break many people, James just dusted himself off and after being talent spotted by a coach, ended up playing Wheelchair Rugby, eventually for The England Team. But then as is so often the case... James found BJJ! While preparing for the postponed Rugby World Cup he saw 2 guys rolling at his Spit and Sawdust local gym and asked to 'have a go...'

That was just 2 years ago, and since then he has competed many times, never having been submitted in competition and is currently preparing for an MMA cage fight - normal rules!!

James Hazel is a unique human and he really blew my mind with his story and his infectious energy. I know you're going to love this one!

The Show

Greg Wilgar-Jones joined me on the show this week to talk BJJ and Coffee, so of course I brought along Whitebasement's resident Badass Barista Gosiaconda to make sure I didn't sound too stupid on the coffee front!

Greg Started Heelhook Coffee in May of this year (2023) after identifying a gap in the market and looking for a small business he could start to support the BJJ community.

Heelhook currently stocks 4 different coffee's and can supply beans or pre ground bags, we did a 'cupping' tasting session and after slurping the coffee's like a pro, I can confirm that, to my pallet at least they were all delicious! Gregs offerings also got the nod of approval from Gosiaconda which is high praise indeed!

We chatted BJJ, Aikido, Judo, Coffee and Entrepreneurialism. If that sounds like you cup of... Coffee, then brew a cup, find a comfy seat and join us for a good old chat!
