Keeping a gratitude journal first thing in the morning is a great way to start your day.
But for many of us, we tend to just go through the motions.
Our journal prompts us to answer the question: What are 3 things you're grateful for today?"
My spouse, my job and my dog.
Done!
Well it's not enough to just write down what you're grateful for. For your life to change, and for you to be happier because you're living in a state of gratitude, you need to take things one steps further.
Answer the question why.
Why are you grateful for your spouse?
Why are you grateful for your job?
Why are you grateful for your dog.
Take your gratitude deeper when you're writing in your journal this week. Answer the question "why" for each "what" you put in your journal. Imagine your life like without these things or these people in your life. Write those down. One you start doing this, you'll really feel the gratitude and will be living in gratitude.
