Oregon Football's 2022 non-conference schedule is one of the toughest in the Pac-12, starting with a week 1 meeting against the defending national champions in Georgia. After an FCS opponent, and a tough one at that in Eastern Washington, Oregon is back in Autzen stadium against a BYU team that went 10-3 in 2021--including 5-0 against the Pac-12.. It's a game that the Ducks (and the fans) should be treating as the very real threat that it is.

On today's episode of Locked On Ducks, Spencer McLaughlin is joined by Jake Hatch of Locked on BYU Cougars. He brings a wealth of knowledge about the Cougars and which players will be crucial on the September 17th showdown in Eugene. Among the names Oregon fans will hear called on that day are 2 they have heard before: former Oregon OL Kingsley Suamataia and former Cal RB Christopher Brooks. Over the second half of last year, BYU's defense (specifically the run defense) started to falter which contributed to an Independence Bowl loss to UAB. With the Ducks' most predictable strength going into 2022 being the offensive line, that's an area where the Ducks need to dominate. Jake also shares what concerns him most about Oregon, but also why he feels confident about the Cougars' chances going into Autzen and coming out with a win.
