Do you have a morning routine that includes gratitude?===========I've been big on practicing a morning routine ever since reading The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod 5 years ago. That's when I first learned (and had it really sink in) about the importance of doing things for yourself first thing in the morning, before getting on technology and before doing things for others. My morning routine changes every couple of months, but usually consists of some variation of the following: Waking up at 5:00 am, having some water and going for a workout. After that, I take a shower, and at the end of the shower, I turn the water on cold and think of 3 things I'm grateful for.I then make my bed (easy early win) and make a protein smoothie. After that, I meditate using an app (either Calm or Insight Timer) and visualize what I want my day and life to look like.I spend a few minutes reading a book usually related to personal development or business, but sometimes a memoir. And then finally, I take out 3 of my Say It With Gratitude cards and write words of gratitude to 3 people.Only after all of that do I dive into my work, usually at around 8:00 or 8:30 am.I can't tell you how much energy I have to tackle the day and how good I feel after doing that morning routine.Especially the gratitude part. There is something about expressing gratitude in the morning and really focusing on the things you have and the people that are in your life that you're grateful for.If you're hearing this message, you're blessed. You have an Alexa device, a computer, tablet or smartphone and an internet connection. You have ears and hearing that allow you to listen to this message.A lot of people don't have what we take for granted. So tomorrow morning, I'm going to challenge you to think of 3 things or people you're grateful for.Really feel it, and don't just go through the motions. And then let me know what those 3 things or who those people were by sending me an email to
[email protected]. I’d love to hear from you.I’m Scott Colby with Say It With Gratitude and this has been your Daily Gratitude Minute. Cheers.
