It can be very easy to spread yourself extremely thin without even realizing it. In addition, it can be very easy to give all of yourself to someone else and realize that you're giving nothing to yourself.
We cannot solve everyone's problems, nor should we attempt to. It's important to be there for others, but not at the cost of your mental and emotional health.
Don't set yourself on fire to keep others warm!

Charles Woolfork is a Self Talk Engineer and master of neurolinguistic programming (NLP). Hailing all the way from Hawaii, he helps people drop mental and emotional baggage in 15 minutes through his mental & emotional release (MER) technique! Yes, 15 minutes. I have experienced this myself with Charles on three separate occasions and completely endorse the work that he does.
In this episode, Charles details several techniques on how to practice mental & emotional release in addition to NLP. Listening to this will leave you equipped with tools to release baggage, meditate, and be more connected between your conscious and subconscious mind.
I love the "anchoring" technique where Charles explains that we can turn various body parts into "anchors" for different emotions that we want to feel at a given time. I'm already using my new anchor and we went through it live on this episode.

It's very easy to become concerned with what people think about you, especially in today's day and age. I've found that the easiest way to overcome this is by challenging yourself to do things that you're uncomfortable with until they become comforting.
I used to be concerned about what people would think about me while running on the side of the road, pumping myself up for some motivation. By continuing to do this, not only did I not care what people thought, but I also learned that I was creating a lot of false dialogues in my head. A lot of people who I would have deemed to think I was "nuts" for running and yelling to pump myself up have come up to me and said that seeing me on the roads has motivated them to be better.
This has helped me not care about what people may think of me in the normal world, too. Be like an owl, don't give a hoot about what someone may think about you. Most of the time, you're creating a false dialogue in your head.

One of the best discoveries that we make in our lives is our purpose and why we're here. Kiana Williams discovered early on in life that she had a knack for identifying where people have gaps, something that was heavily influenced by her time growing up in church. We had a powerful discussion centered around self awareness in which Kiana detailed several practical methods for people to become more self aware and have a better relationship with themselves.
In addition, Kiana is an expert life coach and helps people unpack their baggage and reframe their past experiences. Here, you can learn more about your stream of consciousness, magnetism, seasons of life, and how to drop the baggage that you may not have even known that you had!
Favorite takeaway from our discussion: "Anything that has left you, been taken from you, or removed from you is not needed for your destiny."

Have you ever heard Yoda's famous quote in Star Wars, "Do or do not, there is no try."?
There's a lot to be said about this simple wisdom. When you use the word try, you are mentally giving yourself an option to fail and not do something that could be very important to you.
Further, using the word try hurts your credibility. I learned this lesson during my first internship over ten years ago when my manager quickly corrected me and gave me a great talk about no longer using the word as it didn't promote action.
Rather than "trying" to do something, say you're going to do it. Say you're getting better, not trying to get better.
Take action, don't give yourself an option.

We all face setbacks in life and it's what we do with those setbacks that helps chart the course for the future. You have two options with any setback, let it shape you or break you. Choose option #1.
Continuing to be vulnerable with these solo episodes so that I may add value by sharing how to overcome various obstacles in life based off personal experiences in hopes that it inspires people to win today and grow from what has happened to them.
I thought after graduating college in 2015 that I had the future figured out, landed a solid corporate job and had a long-time girlfriend that was moving to a new city with me to pursue graduate school. From there, you can infer what the next steps were supposed to be.
I ignored my intuition about certain things, life happened, and I was shocked to come home one day and see that all of her stuff was gone. Crushed me in the short term, but this setback was one of the best things that could have happened to me as it gave me an opportunity to double down on my personal development journey.
Following that, my life and career absolutely skyrocketed and I learned a lot about myself and how to become even better. This episode doesn't get into bashing anyone, but I do detail how you may overcome various obstacles in life and what you will learn from them.
Life is our greatest teacher.
