ABC News Crime and Terrorism Analyst Brad Garrett talks about how the U.S. and Iran have a long and very complicated history going back to the 1950s when the U.S. supported the repressive reign of the Shah of Iran who became the leader of Iran and who was supportive of the U.S. In 1979 Iranians seized the U.S. Embassy in Tehran and held it for 4444 days which lead to an Islamic revolution. Since then, Iran has been hostile to the U.S. but especially to Israel. Over the years, this has led to Iran supporting and funding both Hezbollah and Hamas in Gaza. Adding to all of this was Iran's building a nuclear weapons program, damaged/destroyed by the U.S. in the past few days. The concern for the U.S. now that we joined in bombing Iran's nuclear facilities, is how Iran will come after us, possibly in the U.S. but definitely overseas. Both the FBI and DHS believe there is a heightened threat environment in this country. Iran has a history around the world of using proxies and sympathizers. Iran has called for death to America and law enforcement is on edge as we navigate through these very treacherous times.

1. An invitation from the White House. A Wisconsin woman got one and today she'll be there. Maliki Krieski of Ripon will join President Trump at the White House today for an event on his budget bill. The President calls it the "One Big Beautiful Bill Act." Critics say there's nothing beautiful about it and argue it could add trillions to the already massive deficit. The White House invited Krieski to travel to Washington today to highlight the ‘No Tax on Tips’ provision that's in the bill. It would end taxes on the tips she earns making deliveries for DoorDash. Krieski is a mom and small business owner and makes DoorDash deliveries so she can better support her son who has Type 1 diabetes. She says the tips she makes on the deliveries make a real difference and that would be magnified if Congress sends the President a bill that ends taxes on tips. The event at the White House is supposed to start in about 60 minutes. President Trump hopes to sign the bill by July 4th.

2. A popular comedian, actor, and former SNL Regular is coming to Milwaukee. Adam Sandler's "You're My Best Friend" Tour kicks off September 5th in Jacksonville, with a stop scheduled for Milwaukee on October 5th at Fiserv Forum. General tickets go on sale Friday at noon via Ticketmaster. On the screen, Sandler stars in the highly anticipated Happy Gilmore 2 streaming on Netflix on July 25th.

1. It's classified. Any minute now, Trump officials will give the first classified briefing to Congress on the Iran strikes. Senators are set to meet with top national security officials, as many question President Trump’s decision to bomb three nuclear sites in Iran. The classified briefing was originally supposed to happen on Tuesday, but got delayed. This comes as the Senate is expected to vote this week on a resolution that would require congressional approval if President Trump decides to strike Iran again.

2. New details in the case of Hayden Daffinson, a 32-year-old Ripon man who faces 8 charges related to an attack on his former girlfriend, involving an axe. Details in a criminal complaint reveal a gruesome evening in a Fond du Lac Home the night of June 2nd. According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to the 911 call from the victim and upon arrival, they found her in a pool of blood. Her head was covered in blood, and her left wrist and left pinky finger appeared to be almost severed from her body. The woman had been in a relationship with Daffinson, but called things off. They had set up time for him to gather his belongings from her house on June 22nd. Police arrested Daffinson that evening in Germantown and traced the axe purchase back to a Dollar General Store. The charges against Daffinson are as follows: attempted first-degree intentional homicide, first-degree sexual assault, two counts of mayhem, first-degree reckless injury, aggravated battery, felony intimidation of a victim and false imprisonment.

3. Happening Now: Four private astronauts are up in space munching on chocolate, mango nectar, and pierogis! Well, we're not sure if it's lunchtime yet, but we do know the astronauts brought those foods to the International Space Station. They arrived this morning.
