The pause only affects the countries the White House says... have been negotiating other trade deals. There are no conversations right now with China. The White House is said to be very eager for those conversations to get underway. They're essentially waiting for China to reach out.

2. Inflation cooled off last month. What does it mean for interest rates? The Federal Reserve is scheduled to meet May 7th, economists are forecasting rates to stay the same. What does it mean for your money? Economists believe inflationary risks are still present due to the existence of Trump's tariffs.

3. Inflation cooled in March, but egg prices did not. Experts thought prices would continue to fall because the bird flu outbreak has slowed. They were wrong.

The trade war is not over, and an escalating battle between the world’s two largest economies can create plenty of damage. Tomorrow at 8:30amET we will get the latest report on inflation. This report will cover the time before the tariff turmoil. Expectations are that inflation will be 2.6% compared to a year ago. That would be an improvement from the previous report but will show inflation still above the Fed’s target.

2. A pre-trial hearing continues today in Idaho, where Brian Kohberger is accused of killing 4 University of Idaho Students in November of 2022. Kohberger's lawyers believe autism has "significant impact on Kohberger's daily life" and that jurors may unfairly scrutinize his reactions in court as he maintains a "flat affect" and "does not show emotion on his face. The judge overseeing agrees that the terms "sociopath" and "psychopath" should not be used to describe Kohberger in court. The trial is expected to begin in August.

3. More than 210 people are now confirmed dead in that nightclub tragedy in the Dominican Republic. No survivors have been pulled from the rubble since Tuesday afternoon, hours after the roof collapsed during a concert. So, it’s no longer a “rescue operation”. Authorities say they'll focus on recovering the bodies before they shift entirely into the investigation phase. The big question remains, how did this happen?
