ABC News Technology Reporter Mike Dobuski talks about This week a court in Washington DC hears arguments in the Federal Trade Commission’s major antitrust case against Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram, and Whatsapp. The FTC has been arguing that Meta’s acquisition of Instagram and Whatsapp created an anticompetitive environment in the social media space, and is asking Judge James Boasberg to force Meta to divest from the apps. The case has the potential to reshape not just Meta, but Silicon Valley at large. But before all that happens, the government’s case faces some real challenges. Mike explains.

ABC News Investigative Reporter Peter Charalambous talks about how Harvard University is refusing to comply with a series of demands from the Trump administration, potentially risking billions in federal funding. In a letter on Monday, Harvard University President Alan Garber said the school "will not surrender its independence or relinquish its constitutional rights" by agreeing to a series of terms proposed by the Trump administration. The Trump administration demanded Harvard end its diversity, equity and inclusion programs, adopt merit-based admissions and cooperate with immigration authorities, or risk losing $9 billion in federal funding. Garber at the time said the loss of funding would "halt life-saving research." Harvard's rejection of Trump's demands marks the first time a majority university has pushed back against funding threats made by the Trump administration.

1. A violent threat at UnitedHealthcare. One person is in custody after an intruder was reported on the campus of United-Healthcare in Minnetonka, Minnesota on Monday. That person was 26-year-old Ian Wagner. His mother identified him. A gun was reportedly found in the guy's car. Police say Wagner threatened violence at the facility if specific demands weren't met, but they say there's no indication he had specific grievances against UnitedHealthcare. She says he didn't plan to shoot. UnitedHealthcare's CEO was shot to death in New York City back in December. The man accused of killing him, 26-year-old Luigi Mangione, has pleaded not guilty in the case.

2. The federal government says it's freezing more than 2 billion dollars in grants and contracts to Harvard and the University is pushing back against the Trump administration's demands to limit campus activism and end all DEI operations. Nearly nine billion federal funding dollars is now at stake.

3. It's Tax Day. Millions of Americans have already filed their 2024 income tax returns, but millions have yet to do so. Now the April 15th deadline has arrived. Procrastinators: You have just a few hours left to submit those returns. Unless of course, you file an extension.

1.The ladies who launched into space this morning are back on earth! The six women, including news anchor Gayle King and pop star Katy Perry, have returned from space following their "out-of-this-world ride." It was a quick one! Eleven minutes on board the commercial space jet Blue Origin rocket. The lift-off marked the first all-female spaceflight since 1963.

2. The alleged arsonist, suspected of setting fire to the Pennsylvania's Governor's Residence, is a self-described expert mechanic with a beef against politicians according to his social media posts. 38-year-old Cody Balmer is hospitalized and awaiting arraignment after confessing to the crime at the home of Governor Josh Shapiro. Shapiro, his wife and two children escaped, unharmed. Balmer is charged with attempted murder, aggravated arson, burglary, and terrorism.

3. Disturbing new accusations about a Waukesha teenager. 17-year-old Nikita Casap is already charged in the deaths of his parents. Now, a recently unsealed federal warrant accuses him of killing his parents as part of a larger plot to assassinate the President... and overthrow the government. We're also learning, Casap may have had help carrying out his plan. Prosecutors allege Casap had ties to extremist groups with neo-nazi views.
