1. The Madison School Board meets tonight on the heels of an allegation that staff members at Whitehorse Middle School were involved in a physical and sexual assault. The School District released a statement late last night, just before 11 PM, saying the matter is being taken very seriously and a team was immediately pulled together to address the situation. The Whitehorse Middle School leadership team, MMSD administration, and the Office of School Safety are working together and following district’s policies and procedures in responding to this matter. The assault allegation has also been reported to law enforcement. The Madison Metropolitan School District is the state's *second* largest school district, behind Milwaukee.

2. Hurricane Melissa is now a monster category 5 storm with winds reaching 160 miles per hour. The hurricane is on a collision course with Jamaica. The storm is expected to bring catastrophic flooding and landslides to Jamaica, Haiti - where three people are already confirmed to have died - the Dominican Republic, and other northern Caribbean Islands. Significant impacts to Florida and the East Coast of the United States are not expected.

3. It's Victory Monday! In a much-anticipated game, Jordan Love vs. Aaron Rodgers, the Green Bay Packers secured the win last night, beating the Pittsburgh Steelers. Final Score: 35-25 after an explosive second half from Green Bay. Love spent three years under Rodgers with the Packers. So, this was a game of mentor vs. mentee. Up next for the Packers is a noon game at home, against the Carolina Panthers.

1. The newest inflation report is out and it could be the last one for some time. The report is out nine days late because of the shutdown. The government only called workers back to compile this report because this particular inflation report is used to determine the "cost of living adjustment" for social security benefits next year. So, what does it show? It shows the rate of inflation is up. Don't expect the inflation report for November if the government shutdown continues. Today, the White House basically said we won't get it.

2. The NBA says it is cooperating with the investigation into the betting scandal involving celebrities, the mafia and big names in the sport. Miami Heat Guard Terry Rozier and Portland Trailblazers Head Coach Chauncey Billups are both making initial court appearances on Thursday. Former Bucks guard Damon Jones also arrested. Rozier is alleged to have participated in a sports betting ring that used non-public information about NBA players and teams to place fraudulent bets and charged with Conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering. Same charges for Billups who is alleged to have lured wealthy individuals into participating in rigged poker games with Mafia ties. Jones is tied to both cases.

ABC News Investigative Reporter Peter Charalambous talks about how Portland Trail Blazers head coach Chauncey Billups is among those charged in an illegal poker operation tied to the Mafia, while Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier is among several people charged in a separate but related illegal gambling case, authorities announced on Thursday. Billups has been charged with wire fraud conspiracy and money laundering conspiracy. The poker games, which included basketball players to lend credibility to their authenticity, were allegedly rigged in favor of those running the games, using advanced technology, such as rigged shuffling machines and even X-ray technology to read cards facing down on the table. Games were organized beginning in 2019 in the Hamptons, Manhattan, Las Vegas and Miami, officials said. The profits from the alleged poker scheme ran up to $7 million "and counting," officials said. When victims, some of whom lost millions, refused to pay, the mob defendants resorted to violence, the NYPD said.

1. Changes could be coming in the midst of the gambling scandal that's rocked the NBA in its opening week. Dozens of defendants connected to the NBA, and the Mafia, accused of rigging poker games and sports bets. Wire fraud and money laundering are among the allegations in the indictments. 2. A retail Giant is nearing final approval for a store in Franklin. Costco is looking to build a 162,000-square-foot building and gas station on the northwest corner of Drexel Avenue and 27th Street. The Franklin Plan Commission recommended approval of all outstanding development items, including a rezoning request, a conditional use permit, and a planned development overlay. If the plan passes the Common Council, construction could begin in early 2026. Costco has several locations in Waukesha Count, including Menomonee Falls, Pewaukee, and New Berlin. Another location is planned for Oconomowoc.

3. For the first time in five years, the American Heart Association has revised its guidelines for CPR. The new recommendations reflect a troubling reality. There's also new guidance on what to do when someone is choking.
