WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams thinks that Dorothy Day is one of the most important lay Catholics of the twentieth century. She feels that anyone who has followed WOMEN OF GRACE studies needs to add a new book by Terrence Wright to their reading list. Johnnette talks with Terrence Wright about his introduction to the life and thought of Dorothy Day. He presents her radical response to God's mercy. After a period of darkness and sin, which included an abortion and a suicide attempt, Day had a profound awakening to God's unlimited love and mercy through the birth of her daughter. After her conversion, Day answered the calling to bring God's mercy to others. Dedicated to both the spiritual and the corporal works of mercy, she established Houses of Hospitality, Catholic Worker Farms, and the Catholic Workernewspaper. Grace is sufficient

“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

These words touched the heart of WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams this week. This passage combined with Job 42’s "I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted” let us know we must surrender to His word. God is Goodness. Maria called wanting prays for people of Nicaragua. People are being killed by gangs and government. Priest and religious are being hurt. Churches destroyed. Caller Kim is a cancer survivor since 2005. On a test yesterday she prayed a “Hail Mary” while they tried to get a good vein. The nurse was touched as she lost her uncle who was a priest last year. She was just talking to him before she came into room. Johnnette says Kim was a witness. Dino called in pain that his wife who was once a devoted Catholic is now drawn to New Age and crystals. Joy & Laughter

WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams went shopping a bought a magazine that tells how laughter could be a healer. She say that joy and laughter is a gift of the Holy Spirit. We see this through the Bible. She gives an example of the beatitudes. The joy if the Lord is your strength. Beth on Youtube wrote that she is joyful that after being healed from breast cancer. She laughs everyday. Beth called in asking for prayer for relatives who are suffering. Caller Maria has a friend who is sleeping with her boyfriend. They say that it is not in the 10 commandments. Johnnette explains the 6th commandment and also point to the Catholicism. It is sexual immorality. Sharon asked if people in purgatory can pray for us. Strength to Endure

WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams has a call from Karen who wants what she has – the giddy sound of happiness from being married. She has a gentleman who has shown interest in her. She is annulled but he is not and not practicing Catholic Johnnette tells her that she has to have someone who will share her faith. Her prayer must be to be open to the Lord. Kathryn wants to help a lady who is having money issues. She is not working and does not want a minimum wage job so she watches TV all day. Johnnette says to pray for her and be cautious. You maybe enabling this person who maybe just lacking energy to better herself. What is best for the woman? You must move forward. Flor’s husband has taken up with another woman. How can she survive? Johnnette says giving up a relationship is a hard thing to do. God hears our prayers and sees our tears. He knows your suffering. He gives us the strength to endure. PRAYER - Holy Medicine for the Soul

WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams praises Bishop Tobin for standing up for life in his state. The pro-abortion tried to make a message to say he did not speak for them. He agreed. He speaks for life. Johnnette says sometimes we have to be uncomfortable in doing the Lord’s work. Caller Susan has a problem with relatives that have been at family weddings. They are known to get rude and hateful at family events. Should she invite them to daughter’s wedding? Johnnette says boundaries are OK. We can love them but not like them or their actions. Fran on Youtube has been sick over 3 months and thinks God is cursing her from a past sin. Johnnette tells her that God does not condemn us. We condemn ourselves. Go see another doctor and pray. Listener Antonia is dealing with her past memories that include rape and a molesting ex-husband who is now in jail. Why does the evil memories come back to her? Weight of the World

WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams says God has so much in mind for us. The weight of the world around you is not you’re to carry alone. Are we followers of the Gospel message? Why have we failed to grow from our failures? Johnnette reads from a book by Fr. Emil Neubert. In it he gives ways for us to grow closer to God. Those include : modification, purity, obedience, poverty, charity and fraternal union. Caller Rita says she in seeking the Catholic church but can not forgive herself of a sin. Johnnette says we can forgive others but God must be the one to forgive you. This comes through confession and reconciliation. WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams welcomes regular guest Sue Brinkmann. Sue talks about the upcoming Women Of Grace retreat and shares about a new program called “ Young Women of Grace.” Joining them is Braya Markley who is a member of the new ministry. She tells Johnnette how the group has help to strengthen her faith. Sue also highlights the top news stories of the week including a florist who would not make flowers for a same-sex marriage and the Supreme Court Judge who is retiring. WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams welcomes guest Kathleen Beckman. Kathleen is an international Catholic evangelist, author, radio host, Ignatian certified retreat director, and she assists priests in the Church’s ministry of healing, deliverance and exorcism. Kathleen Beckman will speak at Women of Grace Benedicta Leadership Institute Conference in Malvern PA. It is entitled, “Women: God’s Special Weapon Against Evil.” Caller Kim asked how she can start a Rosary group in her parish. Kathleen gives advice as well as tells her that the enemy hates the Rosary as she has witness demon scream at the holy prayers. Karina called in to ask for help. Feeling like Pressed Grapes --

Ever feel the pressure of life around you? Do you feel snowed in with troubles? WOMEN OF GRACE host Johnnette Williams is having one of those days and is taking her own words of advice and praying for a better outcome. The Holy Spirit gives us insight the resolve to face these challenges. God has a plan. Caller Elisabeth has been in a parish for 6 years and is feeling conflict within the Church. She loves the priest but the inner politics are getting her down. Johnnette offers advice to her to deal with the cliques. When we have these pressures going on in our lives at work, church and even family we can feel like pressed grapes. Sometimes this can be purification. Maripat called with problems with her husband who left 2 years ago and will not talk to her or their children. He has been distance since she got pregnant and told her he did not want children. Johnnette suggest seeing the parish priest and seek counseling. Doug is dealing with aging parents who both have dementia.
