  • EP 31 // Hiring Myself and Working Worthfully // Christine Baird
"Money just makes you more of who you already were." - Sara Blakely

I've been thinking a lot about what it means to own my worth in my career lately. I'm in an evolution in my own career, and I did a massive career change 4 years ago, so it's something I have experience with.

The first six years of my career I worked in corporate insurance sales - about as traditional of a profession as you can get.

Then I did a career 180 and became a freelancer in a completely different industry (online content creation). It was a trip.

Not only did it give me the opportunity to remake my relationship with my professional worth, it was the very beginning of how I learned to live worthfully.

This episode is one of my favorites so far. It's something I'm so passionate about. It's something that I've lived and I continue to live daily.

If I've learned anything about my worth from working for myself, it's that my profession, bank account, and status will never reflect my true worth. So the sooner I focus my self-worth on who I am outside of my career, the quicker I'll be able to give my best contribution.

  • EP 30 // The Value of Free Time // Christine Baird
"Boredom makes people keen to engage in activities that they find more meaningful than those at hand." - Manoush Zomorodi

I gave myself the permission today (on this Independence Day holiday) to not get anything done if I didn't want to.

Since I've been vacationing a lot lately, I didn't feel the need for a holiday. But something told me to slow down and take one anyway.

As a result, I ended up mindlessly watching some IGTV that in turn gave me huge inspiration on a variety of topics that I'm now excited to work on for the rest of the day.

This in turn inspired me to record a solo round on the podcast about the worth of free time, boredom, and slowing down to create space.

As it turns out, this has been the theme of my life for the past couple of months, and I feel some really good things coming from it.

If you've been feeling the need for some space in your life but are anxious about whether you can afford to create it, here's a reminder that you can.

  • EP 29 // Letting My Unworthiness Show Me My Worth // Sarah Anassori
"The unworthiness was the way to become worthy."

I met my new friend Sarah Anassori during lunch at a lovely event several months ago, and we hit it off right away.

But it wasn't until our follow up brunch that we began to realize how similar our paths have been on our journeys to owning our worth.

Sarah sailed her way through school with great grades, landed an impressive job in marketing, worked her way up the corporate ladder for years, and then finally slowed down enough to realize how out of alignment she had become with herself.

That led to leaving her career, sitting in the mess of not knowing, and transforming into a coach.

As we talked about the process of finding purpose, deciding we're worthy despite feelings of unworthiness, and connecting to the highest versions of ourselves, I felt so grateful to see my own journey mirrored back to me.

Wherever you are on your journey, I trust you'll find valuable insight about this process in this episode.

  • EP 28 // Making My Digital Persona Worthfull // Christine Baird
"No matter what we may or may not offer through our digital personas, we're worthy of love and belonging."

I spend a lot of my time professionally thinking about what makes a powerful digital persona. It's the business I work in.

So when I was watching the new announcement about IG TV today, I got reflective about how I judge people's worth based on their digital persona.

This of course got me thinking about multiple conversations I've had, even this week, about the future of social media and how we relate to each other on those platforms.

Eventually I got thinking about what it means to own my worth via my digital persona. Why it matters. Who are good examples of this. And what I am doing to be responsible about what version of myself I present digitally to the world.

This solo round is a introduction to my thoughts on this topic -- I'm sure more will be coming. I'd love to hear yours after you listen!

  • EP 27 // Having Something to Offer // Christine Baird
"As we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same." - Marianne Williamson

I just returned (tonight) from a really wonderful trip to Mexico City. I got to go there with a couple of vloggers, creators, and influencers who are committed to elevating the human experience.

You can probably imagine how great the conversations we had were.

As we talked late into the night over tacos, we kept circling back around to the idea that what we have to offer is enough -- but we have to believe that in order to create something of value.

It doesn't usually work the other way. We have to be willing to share our light, our contribution, our perspective, our offering and THEN we get to see the impact we can have.

Essentially, I kept re-learning that I get to own my worth in order to magnify my impact.

I wanted to record a few of these thoughts fresh from the trip, so I recorded them tonight, unscripted, as is.

I hope you remember what value you are uniquely suited to offer the world -- and that you do it.having-something-to-offer-christine-baird

  • EP 26 // The Worth of Buddies and Accountability // Rebecca Regnier
"I let someone else see what it looked like to get there."

Well, here we are at the official 6 month mark of the podcast.

Episode 26, exactly halfway through Year 1 of the Worthfull Project!

I couldn't think of a better way to commemorate the first six months of this show than sitting down with my dear friend Rebecca Regnier, who is featured on episode 1, to record a 6 month check in.

Actually it was her idea because she's so smart and attentive like that.

The topic of this conversation is accountability -- specifically the weekly call format that Rebecca and I use to hold each other accountable to our big goals.

We've been doing these for about a year with each other, and it's been a huge support to both of us. It's how we remember what matters most, focus on those parts of our lives each week, and make sure we're putting time and energy into them.

I love this conversation because it reminds me that Worthfull Project may still not have been started if it hadn't been for the support of a friend like Rebecca.

In case you're wondering, your goals are worth having accountability for. We hope that this conversation gives you an idea of how to get that support in your life if you're seeking it.

  • EP 25 // My Tools for Dealing with Mistakes // Christine Baird
"I'm still blooming. And so are you. We don't need to judge ourselves in the process."

Last week I recorded two episodes in one sitting (thinking they'd be one), so now it's time to post the second part.

As I was talking about the value of showing the unpolished process of our lives, I thought of all the mistakes I make, both public and private. I used to feel awful when I made any kind of significant mistake. It would really take a hit on my worth for a bit.

But over the years, and especially since doing the work of owning my worth, I've learned a new way to handle making mistakes.

Without realizing it, I noticed I have a 7 step process I go through when I'm handling a mistake to keep my sense of worth intact.

It's been very effective for me and I go to it almost automatically now when I mess up.

I jotted it down to share and I'd love to hear your thoughts on it. Do you also feel your worth taking a hit when you mess up? What have you noticed makes you reclaim your worth after?

  • EP 24 // Loving the Unpolished Process // Christine Baird
"We give people a chance to witness our evolution."

There's one piece of living worthfully that's been on my mind lately -- so I of course wanted to record a solo episode about it.

It's something I'm practicing daily, whether I want to or not.

It's the thing that held me back from sharing my ideas and voice publicly for so long.

And it's the thing that I am now having a lot of fun reversing.

It's what I call showing the "unpolished" sides of yourself to the world.

For so long I felt that I could only (willingly) show the nicely refined, branded, or put-together pieces of myself. But then I learned how valuable and wonderful it is to show all the unrefined, unbranded, messy pieces of myself.

I jotted down some notes on what I'm learning as I do this (the podcast is a perfect example) in the hope that you also will be inspired to show more of the "unpolished" sides of yourself.

Because we're worth being seen -- already and always.

  • EP 23 // Being Judged for My Greatness // Christine Baird
"Why not give your greatness to the world and let them judge you for that?" - Trent Shelton

I got to listen to a wonderful (and worthfull) conversation at my work today.

I have the privilege of sitting in on the conversations that are featured on the School of Greatness podcast (the show I produce professionally).

Today the guest was an incredible man named Trent Shelton, who has millions of followers on social media because he makes very inspirational and uplifting content. Go check him out.

During the interview, he said something that hit a chord with me because it's been coming up a lot in my thoughts and conversations lately.

He pointed out that we are all judged for what we do -- so why not do our best and be judged for that?

I decided to record a late night solo episode on my full thoughts around this idea. Giving our best contribution to the world - as imperfect as it is - is at the heart of owning our worth.

It's so desired, but so often we get scared and hold back.

Maybe this episode will give you some courage to open wide and share it all.

"Our trials are our gifts, and we are what we make of them."

I got a delightful text from my dear friend Liz the other night.

She and I have been walking our worthfull journeys on parallel paths, and she suggested we record a podcast episode together.

    I loved the idea.

Not because I thought Liz has it all figured out. Or because she's a gorgeous model and actress and coach. But because she's 100% committed to this process. And so am I.

We got to talk about some of the extraordinary hardships she has faced in life. We talked about how she has shifted her perspective on them. And we talked about why it's so important to speak kindly to ourselves.

This conversation was extra special because I've been gifted with a front row seat to a lot of Liz's evolution into worthfull woman. And there's almost nothing more beautiful than witnessing that transformation.
