As seniors age and are affected by chronic health problems some tend to isolate themselves.18 percent of seniors in the United States live alone. But 43 percent of seniors in the U.S. report they feel lonely.

Ron says his agency offers temporary respite care   services by providing specially trained staff to care for a person for a few hours a day or up to 24 hours a day care.

She says retirement can be somewhat isolation with the change from the focus on work and family, the keys to a sense of purpose for many adults, With the change in later life, is can lead to depression and loss of self-worth. Health may decline and friends and loved ones pass away and the result can be detachment, disengagement and withdrawal.
