『【主】はヨシュアに告げられた。

　「立て。なぜ、あなたはひれ伏しているのか。』

　一兵も失うことなくエリコ城を陥落させたヨシュアでしたが、次の小さな町アイには敗北したのです。それは、民の中に罪を犯し、それを隠していた者がいた為でした。神は、ヨシュアに「立って敗因の罪を清めよ」と命じるのです。その結果、アカンの罪が示され、聖絶されたのです。翌朝、ヨシュアは戦いに出て行き、勝利をおさめるのです。アカンが早く悔い改めていたら、大きな犠牲は起こらなかったと思います。アコルの谷の叫びを心に留めておきましょう。

　今日も、主の道を踏み外すことがありませんように・・・。　　

「And there, in the presence of the children of Israel,

　he wrote on the stones a copy of the law of Moses,

　which he had written.」　Amen.

They purged the sin within themselves and confronted the small town of Ai with their entire army. Moreover, they employed strategy. As a result, they were able to conquer it. Then Joshua wrote the words of the Law of Moses on stone tablets. They were read aloud before the people of Israel,who stood on Mount Ebal and Mount Gerizim. The Law is a mirror. Before it, we must repent, be corrected, and move forward. In that sense, the Law is still alive today.

May we be corrected before the Lord today...

『ヨシュアはその場所で、

　モーセがイスラエルの子らの前で書いた律法の写しを、

　石の上に書いた。』

　自分たちの中にあった罪を取り除き、全軍を持って小さな町アイに立ち向かいました。しかも、戦略も用いて。その結果攻略することができました。そして、ヨシュアはモーセの律法の移しを

石の上に書いたのです。それからエバル山とゲリジム山とに分かれていたイスラエルの民の前で

読み上げられたのです。律法は鏡なのです。その前で悔い改め、正し、進んでいかなければなりません。その意味では今でも律法はある意味生きているのです。

　今日も、主の御前で正されますように・・・。　

『ある日のことであった。イエスは弟子たちと一緒に舟に乗り、「湖の向こう岸へ渡ろう」と言われたので、弟子たちは舟を出した。8:23 舟で渡っている間に、イエスは眠り始められた。ところが突風が湖に吹きおろして来たので、彼らは水をかぶって危険になった。8:24 そこで弟子たちは近寄ってイエスを起こし、「先生、先生、私たちは死んでしまいます」と言った。イエスは起き上がり、風と荒波を叱りつけられた。すると静まり、凪になった。8:25 イエスは彼らに対して、「あなたがたの信仰はどこにあるのですか」と言われた。弟子たちは驚き恐れて互いに言った。「お命じになると、風や水までが従うとは、いったいこの方はどういう方なのだろうか。」』

お祈りいたします。

愛する天のお父様、み名を崇め感謝します。あなたは、自然も悪霊も病も死をも支配し、それに勝利してくださいましたので感謝します。私たちが過ごすこの船には、いろんな風が吹いてきますが、イエス様が主として、共にいて下さいますからありがとうございます。あなたは病も死も苦しみもすべてを支配しておられ、すべてに勝利してくださっていますからありがとうございます。突風を前にしても、恐れることなく、イエス様を見上げて祈ることできますように導いてください。あなたがたの思い煩いを、いっさい神にゆだねなさい。神があなたがたのことを心配してくださるからです。と言われますから感謝します。いつも信仰の創始者であり完成者であるイエス様を見上げつつ過ごすことができますようにお導き願います。今日の礼拝を感謝し、魂が恵まれ、すべてが恵まれ、健やかになりますように助けてください。主イエス・キリストのお名前によってお祈り致します。　アーメン。

「So the Lord said to Joshua:

　"Get up! Why do you lie thus on your face?」　　Amen.

Joshua took the city of Jericho without losing a single soldier, but was defeated at the next town, Ai, a small town. This was because some of the people had sinned and hidden it. God commanded Joshua to "arrive and cleanse the sin that caused the defeat." As a result, Achan's sin was exposed and he was destroyed. The next morning, Joshua went out to battle and was victorious. If Achan had repented sooner, I believe there would not have been such a great sacrifice. Let us keep in mind the cry of the Valley of Achor.

　May we not stray from the Lord's way today either...

「So the people shouted when the priests blew

　the trumpets. And it happened when the people

　heard the sound of the trumpet,

　and the people shouted with a great shout,

　that the wall fell down flat.

　Then the people went up into the city,

　every man straight before him,

　and they took the city.」　 Amen.

　Before Joshua stood the fortified city of Jericho. Though God had promised victory, how to conquer it remained unknown. Yet God gave a strange command: march around the city once each day, and on the seventh day, march around it seven times and shout. Joshua and the people obeyed. Then Jericho fell. Waiting a full week, doubts must have arisen. Hesitation must have crept in over this seemingly meaningless action. Yet they persevered to the end. There, God's blessing awaited them.

　May we place our trust in the Lord today as well...

『民はときの声をあげ、祭司たちは角笛を吹き鳴らした。

　角笛の音を聞いて民が大声でときの声をあげると、

　城壁は崩れ落ちた。そこで民はそれぞれ、

　まっすぐに攻め上り、その町を攻め取り、』

　ヨシュアの前には、エリコという堅固な城がありました。神の約束はあったものの、どのように攻め取るかは分かりませんでした。でも、神は、一日一回城の周りを回り、七日目には七回回って鬨の声を上げよと不思議な命令を下しました。ヨシュアも民も従順に行ったのです。すると、エリコは陥落しました。待つこと一週間、疑いの気持ちも起こったことでしょう。意味不明な行動に

ためらいもあったことでしょう。でも、最後までやり通したのです。そこに神の祝福が待っていたのです。

　今日も、主に信頼を寄せることができますように・・・。　

「And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho,

　that he lifted his eyes and looked, and behold,

　a Man stood opposite him with His sword drawn in His hand.

　And Joshua went to Him and said to Him,

　"Are You for us or for our adversaries?"」　　Amen.

The man standing before Joshua—was he friend or foe? That's the question. Verse 14 tells us, “No, but as Commander of the army of the Lord I have now come.” He was an ally. This was just before the attack on Jericho. We never know when or from where the Lord's help will come. It would be a great relief to be warned in advance, but all we can do is pray, believe, and wait. What matters is faithfully doing what we should do today.

　May we wait in faith for the Lord today as well...

『ヨシュアがエリコにいたとき、目を上げて見ると、

　一人の人が抜き身の剣を手に持って彼の前方に立っていた。

　ヨシュアは彼のところへ歩み寄って言った。

　「あなたは私たちの味方ですか、それとも敵ですか。」』

　ヨシュアの前に立った男は、味方なのか敵なのか、気になる所ですね。14節には、「いや、わたしは【主】の軍の将として、今、来たのだ。」と、書かれてあります。味方だったのです。エリコの町を攻める直前でした。主の助けは、いつ、どこからくるのか、それは分かりません。前もって知らせてもらえると大安心なのですが、祈って、信じて、待つしかないのです。大切なのは、今日為すべきことを着実にしておくことなのです。

　今日も、主を信じて待つことができますように・・・。
