  • Ruben Rojas: Street Artist impacting the Elite 11
Ruben Rojas is an international street artist whose art has impacted the world through powerful and simple messages that revolve around the idea of love.

He joined Yogi Roth on the LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS podcast to share his transition into the art community from finance and how his art has impacted the top high school quarterbacks in the nation at the 2018 Elite 11 Quarterback competition.

The 2018 theme for the Elite 11 was #iAm. The focus of Yogi, the host of the Elite 11, and the staff was to remind the high profile student-athletes that they are more than just quarterbacks. Ruben guided that conversation with his street art, as each athlete created a canvas that had their #iAm statement written on it. Ruben then combined each canvas into a mural that celebrated the journey of each QB and the 2018 Elite 11 class. It is titled, ‘I Am. We Are.’

His conversation with Yogi will have you thinking about your path, offer you tools to seek your best self and inspire you, as Ruben says ‘nothing is impossible unless we say it is.’

To see Ruben's art be sure to watch the Elite 11 documentary series later this summer on NFL Network and other digital platforms.

  • Brett Hughes: living in Paris, following his curiosity.
From the heart of the Latin Quarter in Paris, the LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS podcast welcomes back Brett Hughes to the show.

Brett and his wife, Kate Voegele (recently on LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS), chose to move to Paris with purpose. Both explorers, they had committed to fulfilling a goal of residing in a foreign country when they got married.

Fast-forward to May of 2018 and that goal is a reality.

Host Yogi Roth sat down with Brett during the first month of their adventure over a coffee. There, Brett shared how his adventurous spirit began as a child in his backyard and with each life decision; his curiosity to see the world grew.

Brett—a 10-year professional lacrosse player following a stellar career at the University of Virginia—dove into the fear that traveling can create and how the same curiosity he had a child has allowed him to overcome the fear of the unknown.

If you’ve ever had a dream of living in a foreign land, domestic or abroad, this conversation will ignite your spirit to explore and offer tangible tools toward actualizing that dream.

  • Melvin Gordon: Seeking ‘Happiness’
Melvin Gordon is one of the most electrifying running backs in the NFL but what is not seen on Sunday is his story. The Los Angeles Charger joins the LIFE WITHOUT LIMITS podcast with Yogi Roth and shares elements of his competitive journey.

Beginning in Kenosha, Wisconsin Melvin found that his creative work ethic would lead him to developing a skill set that allowed him to be one of the top players in the nation coming out of high school. For example, as a child he and his Dad would dig through trash cans and find water bottles to use as cones when doing agility work.

That work ethic translated to college where he became a Heisman Trophy Finalist. A key to his success is his grit, which Melvin continued to develop during late nights in Madison, Wisconsin, working out past 2am to maintain his edge. That edge led him to becoming a first round NFL Draft pick.

Melvin also shares his process with Yogi: from processing his father going to prison and being released, how he is able to ‘re-set’ as a competitor and how he processes the sheer physicality of football.

His vulnerability and candid nature will have you leaning in, as Melvin will motivate, inspire and remind all of us that the only limits we have in life are the one’s we set ourselves.

This conversation was captured at the Thuzio event in Los Angeles and much love to them for creating this conversation.

For centuries sports has provided a canvas. For sports personality Dan Rubenstein—he has made a career out of painting his own story.

A sports fan and tennis player growing up, Dan always enjoyed the power of sport and when he found himself on the Oregon campus in college he learned that he could make a life based around his creativity.

As the co-host of The Solid Verbal podcast and a host/producer at SB Nation, Dan has been a part of digital content for more than a decade. While the creative fire got ignited in Eugene, his career took off out of college in ways he could have never predicted.
