Y2K POP UNIVERSE episodes

  • S5 - E8 - Mýa - Hurry Up
On this breezy Y2K bop, we get a lesson from Mya about having your cake and eating it too. While it's another song about a toxic relationship that should just end, it features snappy production from DJ Clue and features an incredibly catchy chorus. Although not the most notable song, it has actually aged quite well as they dont' em like this anymore.

  • S5 - E7 - Mýa - Anatomy 1On1
This steamy track features production from the legendary duo of Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and it does not disappoint. This is one of the most streamed and beloved songs on "Moodring" - but personally I think it could have benefitted from a little bit more production expansion - what do you think? Listen on it for my opinion!

  • S5 - E6 - Mýa - No Sleep Tonight
We're entering a sultry section of the "Moodring" experience, and what better way to make our transition than a song about a friends with benefits? This sensual banger (no pun intended) is absolutely one of my favorites on the album. With production from legendary Tricky Stewart, to an incredible vocal performance from Mya, this song needs to be on your bedroom playlist.

  • S5 - E5 - Mýa - Sophisticated Lady
Another potential could-be single from Mya's 2003 "Moodring" that sadly never saw the light of day! With a great a sample of Rick James' "Cold Blooded", Mya shows us how to get naughty...sophisticatedly.

This hidden banger is needing more recognition ASAP. With production by Missy Elliott and Timbaland and a top notch fiery vocal delivery from Mya, this track has it all - step away from my man!

  • S5 - E3 - Mýa - Why You Gotta Look So Good?

Who cares about being in a toxic relationship if it looks and feels so good? Trust me, in the long run, it's not worth it - hopefully Mya teaches us the do's and dont's of being in a situationship like this.

The most streamed song on "Moodring", according to Spotify, and for good reason!! This is by far one of my favorite songs of all time and in my opinion one of Mya's best songs ever as well. With amazing samples, production, lyrics that touch the heart and a stunning vocal show case - I can't wait for you to dive in to this romantic journey all about falling in love.

  • S4 - E11 - Girls Aloud - Thank Me Daddy
The end of our pop journey with the Girls is here - and they leave us with kind of a head-scratcher track, but it's still sweetly bizarre bop full of Xenomania quirks.
