Similar to one's calling, which we talked about last time, today, we talk about the line, "No one is going to hand me my future."
這句話是什麼意思呢？
More specifically, "hand" as a verb instead of the commonly used noun. 今天我們談論「hand」作為動詞而不是常用的名詞。
hand me = 遞給我

Essentially, no one is going to hand me my future means "沒有人會把未來白白地送給我的。未來要自己去找".
Other phrases where "hand" is also a verb:
To hand someone something = to give someone something 表示把……交給某人
BUT
I really gotta (got to) hand it to you = 不是「交給你」!I really gotta hand it to you = 不得不佩服你，表示誇獎。

In this film, the main character says, "it's in me", which refers to the music inside his DNA, that he feels called to the music. Today, we focus on this idea of the calling.

【中式英語陷阱】
It's your call可不是"你的電話"的意思!
It's in me = it's in my DNA, we say this when we feel a calling in us to do something.

Calling = purpose

It's my call = it's my decision = 這是我的決定/我說了算

It's your call 意思是聽你的，你來決定。
Other meanings of the word, "call". 與call相關的常見口語表達:
It's for me/The call is for me = 電話是給我的

I called it = I said this before. It's just like I said before. 就像我之前說的。

last call 不是「最後一個電話」! Last call = 最後一個機會做某事；最後招待（酒吧打烊時對顧客生意的）, 最後點餐的機會.

To call someone names 不是「稱呼某人的名字」! To call someone names 是指「罵人」或「侮辱」

In this movie, as it reflects Mexican culture, there are many Spanish words, which might be confusing if you're just starting to learn English. 在這部電影中，由於它反映了墨西哥文化，所以有很多西班牙語單詞，如果你剛開始學習英語，這可能會令人困惑。
When you have the sub-titles on, you'll realize that all the words that have "j" in them, are pronounced "h", like "mijo" - sounding like "meeeho", and "Jose" sounds like "ho-zay".

Down to earth = unpretentious, easy-going. 「Down to earth」是一個含有褒義的片語，用來描述一個人性格謙遜、為人友善、踏實務實, 也很常拿來形容不擺架子, 接地氣, 好相處的人。

"Earth" in North America, beyond the planet, also means 「泥土」。

Down to earth: 3個字，不能多也不能少!

Today, we focus on some popular white wines:
廣受歡迎的長相思（Sauvignon Blanc）是釀製有獨特香味的白葡萄酒的葡萄品種。

"Sauvignon" 在法文的意思為「野生」，而“Blanc”就是白的意思，即「野生的白葡萄」。 Sauvignon Blanc源自法國，在不同的產地更可培養出不同的風格。
Pinot Grigio or Pinot Gris 灰皮諾

法文叫Pinot Gris (s不發音)，義大利文叫Pinot Grigio。酒體通常為輕或中等，有果香，喝起來順口，價格也比較親民。之所以叫「灰」皮諾，是因為葡萄的外皮帶灰色。釀酒的時候，葡萄皮的灰色就留在酒裡了。
Muskateller: 莫斯卡托 (Moscato) 又稱麝香葡萄，是一種歷史悠久且分至眾多的白葡萄品種。
Riesling: 作為芳香葡萄品種，雷司令（Riesling）釀造的葡萄酒香氣四溢，帶有高酸，既有甜型也有乾型，彷彿為夏日所生，必能解一份炎熱。人們通常認為雷司令是一種甜酒，因為在20世紀的大部分時間，德國的主要葡萄酒是各種甜度的雷司令。但如今，德國的葡萄酒飲用者大多更喜歡雷司令乾白，其中許多較好的種類現在出口到了美國。在商標上尋找“Trocken”字樣，它的意思是 dry 乾葡萄酒。
Chardonnay: 夏多內原產法國，是目前全球最受歡迎的釀酒白葡萄品種之一。夏多內，又叫做雪當利、莎當尼、莎當妮，原產自勃根地，是當前全球最受大家歡迎的葡萄品種. Like "champagne", Chardonnay is a French word, and so "Ch" sounds like 聽起來像 [sh].

What is the PSL?
PSL 是一種拿鐵咖啡!
Pumpkin Spice Latte = 南瓜香料拿鐵
Spice = 香料
Latte, sounds like [LAH-teh].

But… is there pumpkin in it?

I hate to break it to you, but there’s no pumpkin in PSL, PSL 中沒有南瓜，有的只是大量的糖。 What there is, is a lot of sugar. Because the pumpkin spice is often a syrup or a sugary powder. 因為南瓜香料通常是糖漿或糖粉。if you want to make it not such a sugar heavy drink you can do what I do, which is to say, “half syrup”. 如果你不想喝太多醣，你可以按照我的做法，也就是說，「半糖漿」。
Syrup: 糖漿

Half-syrup: 半糖

Today, we answer a listener's question. This listener ordered something online, and when he picked the regular shipping option, a message popped up that had the word, "hate" in the sentence.
今天，我們回答一位聽眾的問題。這位聽眾在網路上訂購了一些東西，當他選擇常規運送選項時，賣家彈出一條訊息，句子中含有「hate」一詞。

To hate for someone to do something = to not want someone to do something.

I'd hate for you to go = I don't want you to go! 我不想讓你走！
I'd hate for you to miss out = I don't want you to miss out! 我不想讓你錯過機會！
We'd hate for you to miss out on free and fast delivery = 我們不想讓您錯過免費快速的送貨服務!
I'd hate for you to get sick = I don't want you to get sick! 我可不想讓你生病！
