今天我们讲的这个blur的，被模糊掉的，是一头牛的头。

有点绕啊，再说一遍 哈哈

一头牛的头就是牛头。

So 怎么回事儿呢？ 

From all around the world, people are using GoogleStreet View (谷歌街景) to see panoramic （全景全貌的）views of many streets.

You can see the houses, roads, shops and even the color of a car by using Google Street View.

有一天，一个人用谷歌街景浏览一条路上的风景时，发现了一件奇怪的事情。

There are two cows in the street. But the head of the cow on the right is a blur. 

So Google Street View decided to protect the privacy of a cow by blurring its face?

谷歌为什么把这头牛的头部给模糊掉了呢？

这是为什么呢？

Now many people couldn’t sleep at night, with only one thing in mind- what are you hiding, cow?

what are you hiding?!

对于拥有那么多先进技术的谷歌来说，这是巧合吗？

Surely with such advanced technology, the blurring of this cow’s face wasn’t a mistake… Or was it?

Today we are going to talk about a British girl who earns £50,000 advising Chinese parents on appropriate English baby names.

Beau Jessup是一个16岁的英国女孩，生活在一个不太知名的城市。

She came to China one day and she kept being asked to name babies for her parents’ friends.

回国后的Beau就想，给别人取名字也不能白取啊。

这是一条发家致富奔小康的新门路啊！

All Chinese babies are given a traditional Chinese name at birth, which is written in Chinese characters and used for all government documents.

But there has been a growing demand to adopt an additional English name that can be read, pronounced and printed in English.

This would be for use on email and for study and business in the West, but these names were chosen at school by an English teacher or even by pupils.

So, she set up SpecialName.cn after spending time in China.

She said:” I also heard lots of examples where people had chosen culturally inappropriate English names they'd heard from films or read online. It made me realize there was an opportunity to help Chinese people get it right from the start.”

于是，这姑娘就设计一个网站，这个网站可以根据你的理想和对孩子的期望来取名字。

Beau Jessup has so far suggested names for over 200,000 Chinese babies in six months and her unusual business is booming.

People Can’t Decide If He’s A Hero Or Villain.

Alicia Keys did something pretty gutsy on the MTV Video Music Awards red carpet. 

She showed up to the red carpet wearing absolutely no makeup.

I am not sure if you saw the photo or not.

We are not talking about the so called “no-makeup makeup”, which people use makeup to produce a natural look!

绝对不是所谓的裸妆，她是真的就木有化妆。

围观群众和记者就凌乱了，这是个什么情况，难道最新流行又变了？！

这么隆重的场合，别的女明星又打针 又整容 又敷面膜，恨不得芭芭拉小魔仙变身！

可是，Alicia竟然素颜出镜！

Why?

Alicia 在一次采访中提到，她曾经也是不化妆出门会感动十分焦虑的。

但有一天，她要去拍新专辑的封面。

She said: “I'd just come from the gym, had a scarf under my baseball cap, and the beautiful photographer Paola said, "I have to shoot you right now, like this! The music is raw and real, and these photos have to be too!"”

于是，摄影师就给了拍了一组素颜的封面照。

没想到效果非常好！

Alicia说 I swear it is the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly beautiful that I have ever felt.

从那开始Alicia在很多场合就不再化妆了。

She wrote in a letter that one of the many things I was tired of was the constant judgment of women. The constant stereotyping(把···模式化) through every medium（中等的） that makes us feel like being a normal size is not normal, and heaven forbid if you’re plus-size. Or the constant message that being sexy means being naked. All of it is so frustrating and so freakin’ impossible.

这次Alicia 虽然没有化妆，但举手投足之间充满了自信。

事后，也有很多人批评她说，出席这么重要的场合不化妆是对别人的不尊重，说她看起来很没有精神！

但是，为什么女孩不化妆就是对别人的不尊重呢？

为什么男人不化妆就没有问题呢？

是不是我们的思想都被一些所谓的常识禁锢了呢？

Actually, to wear makeup or not to wear makeup is a personal choice. 

If you like to wear makeup or you feel better when you are wearing makeup, then do it. If  it makes you feel good, why not?

But if you just do not want to wear makeup. Totally fine! No one has the right to judge you.

This is because the amount of sunlight you receive during the day has a big impact on your circadian system. 

Simply put, when you get more sunlight exposure in the day, and less at night, you’re on your way to a sleep formula that really works.

Getting direct sunlight outdoors for at least half an hour has been shown to produce the most benefit.

咖啡因可以提神。所以如果你每天习惯喝咖啡和茶的话，一定要控制好时间。

So, set a caffeine curfew to make sure your body has time to remove most of it from your system before bedtime. For most people that’s generally going to be before 2p.m.

Be careful of your Alarm

我们每个人的睡眠都会有一个周期性的时间。

According to this book, your sleep cycles typically last for 90 minutes each and repeat four to six times per night.

我们的一夜的睡眠其实是由几个循环构成的。

一次循环大致90分钟，一晚上大约4-6个循环。

Even if you get a full night’s sleep, you can still wake up feeling tired if your alarm goes off during the middle of a cycle.

Instead, set your alarm so that it goes off in accordance with these sleep cycles instead of the standard ‘eight hours of sleep’.

For example, if you go to sleep at 10 pm., set your alarm for 5:30 a.m, and you’ll likely find that you feel more refreshed than if you set it for 6 am.

GOING NAKED COULD BOOST YOUR SLEEP 

Your body’s sleep cycles are heavily influenced by something called thermoregulation(体温调节). 

When it’s time to rest, there is an automatic drop in your core body temperature to help initiate sleep.

当人需要睡觉休息的时候，人的核心身体温度会自动下降一些。

If the temperature in your environment stays too high, it can hard to reach the ideal state for restful sleep.

Studies have shown that insomniacs tend to have a significantly warmer body temperature than normal right before bed, though exactly why is unclear.

所以，如果你没办法控制室内的温度 也不想开空调的话，不如就裸睡吧！

裸睡有很多好处啊

If you and your partner both sleep in the nude, you can get the benefits of the anti-stress hormone oxytocin. Also known as the ‘cuddle hormone’ 拥抱荷尔蒙, it has a calming effect and helps promote sleep.

和爱人一起裸睡更健康呢。

Bully 已经成为各国校园中的一个让人十分头疼的现象。

很多在学生时代被bully的人，成年后都会或多或少的留下心理阴影。

今天我们要讲的这个男孩 就是bully的受害者。

The thirteen-year-old boy named Danny Fitzpatrick.

他在纽约布鲁克林的一所中学上学。

And his battle with bullies was so severe that it resulted in the decision to take his own life. 

这个男孩用极端的方式结束了自己被Bully的生活。

He hanged himself at home and left behind a heartbreaking note.

在他留下的书信中，这个13岁的男孩说：

"I am writing this letter to tell about my experience in Holy Angels Catholic Academy. At first it was good . . . lots of friends, good grades and great life. But I moved（搬走了） and went back but it was different. My old friends changed, they didn't talk to me they didn't even like me."

在此前，他搬过一次家，离开了原来的学校一段时间。后来他又回到了这个学校。却发现一切都变了，他之前的朋友对他的态度不一样了。

The bullies would follow him after school, taunting (嘲弄，辱骂) him and urging him to fight them. 

His mother, Maureen, said "My son's not a fighter… … My son just wanted some friends. He needed a friend. Even one friend, I think he would have been OK."

其实，在儿子出事以前，他的父亲曾经到学校找校长讨论这件事情。 但他父亲表示” All we got was, 'He'll be fine. Is he in counseling? You have to try harder Danny. . . . These things will pass; children can be such horrible creatures.”

不管是什么原因，一个这么小的孩子选择这么极端的方式来应对被bully这件事，真的让人十分心痛。

今天要说的这个女孩就酱被分手了 

Her name is Swink.

After nearly four years together, Swink and her ex-fiancé decided to get married. 

She planned every little detail of the big day for months.

但就在婚礼的5天前。

Her fiancé sat her down and told her he did not want to marry her.

听到这个消息Swink的心情可想而知.

她是这样说的：“I was in complete shock and had no idea what to think or do. I was numb . . . As the day that was supposed to be my wedding day approached, none of us knew what to do, think, or feel. "

但Swink是一个坚强的姑娘，She decided that she wasn't going to let her ex-fiancé's mistake get the best of her.

于是她和她的小伙伴决定摧毁婚纱来发泄一下。

她们把五颜六色的油漆泼到了裙子上。

这招还挺管用。

Swink说："The moment the paint hit my dress . . . I was free. All the disappointment, all the hurt . . . I just felt it leave me. "

现在这条裙子还被拿去展示了。

有的人是去剪头发，有的人是吃东西，有的人是去旅行，

First of all, I have a question, 

Recently, a report about a Dutch man travelled around the world to China to meet his so called girlfriend has gone viral on new media.

大叔叫 Alexander Cirk, 41 years old. 

Mr. Cirk met Ms. Zhang, 26, in an app two months ago and then romance blossomed.  

以为这个故事到这里女主出场他们就从此过上了幸福的生活有happy ending 了  ？

nononono far from that ! 

Zhang didn’t show up in the airport. 

Mr. Cirk refused to leave the airport for the next 10 days 10 days ! 

叔在机场呆了十天！

He was eventually taken to hospital suffering physical exhaustion(精疲力竭）

以为故事就这么结束了？

Far from it !

这条新闻在中国火了之后， 女主角联系到了当地电视台，站出来解释了她没有出现在机场的原因。

She says that she had thought it had all been a joke. 

Ms Zhang told Hunan TV-"One day he sent me a photo of air tickets abruptly (唐突地）and I thought it was a joke. He didn't contact me later."   

随后这个女孩还解释了她没有到机场是在忙。忙什么呢？ 

By the time Mr Cirk arrived at the airport, she was away having plastic surgery，in another province，and had turned off her phone.  

没法去见面因为在忙着整容，隐约觉得哪不对，但却觉得很有道理，竟无法反驳!

以为故事到这里就画上句号了？

还有后续，

Ms Zhang reportedly said she would be keen to meet him after her recovery, and she was still interested in maintaining their relationship.
