College life in Texas isn’t all football games and late-night study sessions—some campuses have spirits that never quite graduated. 

At Texas State University in San Marcos, Old Main looms above the river like a gothic sentinel. Built in 1903, it’s said to be haunted by a young woman who leapt—or was pushed—from its balcony more than a century ago. “Scary Sterry” Hall adds to the legend with tales of doors opening on their own and ghostly visitors wandering its echoing corridors.

In College Station, Texas A&M University has its own ghost stories rooted in Aggie tradition. There's the spirit of a meat-processing foreman who died in a gruesome accident in the 1950s,  a mysterious woman in white at Francis Hall and phantom nips from Reveille, the university’s beloved canine mascot.

At Texas A&M University–Commerce, Talbot Hall stands out as both historic and haunted. Once the campus library, it’s now home to flickering lights, footsteps in empty hallways, and the laughter of a boy said to have fallen through the skylight in the 1930s.

At University of Texas at Austin, the Littlefield House tells a more tragic story. Built in 1894, it was home to George and Alice Littlefield, major donors to the university. Today, staff report phantom piano music drifting through the halls and soft crying from the upper floor.

Finally, at St. Edward’s University, faith and fear coexist. The campus has survived fires, tornadoes, and more than a few ghost stories. In the Mary Moody Northen Theatre, students speak of a female spirit haunting the catwalk above the stage, while the main building is home to the ghost of a brother who fell to his death trying to catch a painting from an open window. 

From gothic towers to glowing catwalks, Texas’s college campuses prove that higher education doesn’t always stop at the grave. The halls of learning echo with laughter, heartbreak, and a few too many footsteps from the other side.

On December 9, 1965, something fell from the sky over the quiet town of Kecksburg, Pennsylvania, and nearly sixty years later, no one knows what it was. Around 4:47 p.m., witnesses across the Midwest and Ontario reported a bright fireball streaking through the evening sky. In Kecksburg, residents saw the glowing object descend into nearby woods, moving steadily and appearing to be under control.

Locals rushed to the scene expecting a plane crash but found a metallic, acorn-shaped craft about the size of a small car. It was bronze in color and covered in strange markings that looked like hieroglyphics. Within an hour, men in suits and military uniforms arrived, cleared the area, and sealed it off. Witnesses said soldiers in radiation suits carried a box into the woods, and by nightfall, a flatbed truck hauled away a large, tarp-covered object under heavy guard.

Early newspaper reports confirmed an unidentified object had fallen in Kecksburg, but by the next day, the Army claimed nothing was found. The official explanation was that a meteor burned up in the atmosphere. Locals didn’t buy it. UFO researchers have called Kecksburg “the Roswell of the East” because of the quick military response, secrecy, and later denial.

Some believe it was a Soviet space probe called Kosmos 96, which had a similar acorn shape, but records show it reentered Earth’s atmosphere over Canada hours earlier. Others think it was a secret U.S. test capsule or experimental vehicle. In the 1990s, NASA was sued for information about the case and later admitted that related files had been lost or destroyed.

Today, Kecksburg embraces its mystery. The town hosts an annual UFO Festival, and a full-sized replica of the strange object stands by the volunteer fire department. Whatever crashed that night, meteor, spacecraft, or something else, it left behind one of the most enduring unsolved UFO mysteries in America.

San Antonio is one of Texas’s most haunted cities, and at its center stands the Alamo, a place of courage, tragedy, and lingering spirits. Originally built in 1724 as Mission San Antonio de Valero, it became the site of the famous 1836 battle where around 200 Texian defenders, including Davy Crockett, fought to the death against Santa Ana’s army. In the aftermath, soldiers ordered to demolish the mission fled after reportedly seeing fiery ghostly figures guarding the ruins. Ever since, visitors have described flickering lights, cold spots, the scent of gunpowder, and apparitions of monks and soldiers wandering the grounds.

Just steps away, the Menger Hotel, built in 1859, has its own spectral roster. Guests have spotted the ghost of Davy Crockett near the bar and the spirit of Sallie White, a chambermaid murdered by her husband, still tending to rooms. Voices, footsteps, and sudden chills make this elegant hotel one of San Antonio’s most famous haunted landmarks.

The hauntings continue at San Fernando Cathedral, where human remains, believed to belong to Alamo defenders, were discovered beneath the altar during renovations. Visitors report shadowy figures, glowing orbs, and a dark “Man in Black” near the back pews. Nearby, the Spanish Governor’s Palace adds eerie charm with tales of colonial ghosts, cold spots, and the spirit of a young girl near the courtyard well.

Even Mission Concepción, the oldest unrestored stone church in the U.S., carries quiet hauntings: whispers, phantom footsteps, and the sense of unseen guardians watching over its peaceful grounds.

From the Alamo to the missions, San Antonio’s history is alive in more ways than one. The city’s past doesn’t just live in museums...it lingers in the shadows, reminding visitors that some stories refuse to rest.

In this episode we examine two of the most debated cases of alleged possession: the story of Roland Doe in late 1940s America and the Tanacu exorcism in 2005 Romania.

Roland Doe was a Maryland teenager whose strange experiences began after using a Ouija board with his aunt. Following her death, the family reported scratching noises, objects moving, and beds shaking whenever Roland was nearby. The activity eventually led to a series of exorcisms performed by Jesuit priests in St. Louis. Witnesses described violent contortions, objects levitating, and words appearing scratched into the boy’s skin. After weeks of ritual and struggle, the priests claimed the possession ended when Roland cried out that the demon was gone. He later recounted a vision of Saint Michael driving out the evil. His case became the basis for the novel and film The Exorcist and continues to raise questions about whether the events were spiritual, psychological, or a combination of both.

Half a world away and decades later, another case would shock the public. In 2005, at a small Orthodox convent in Tanacu, Romania, a young novice named Maricica Irina Cornici began showing signs of distress. She had been diagnosed with schizophrenia at a local hospital but was released to the convent’s care. Believing she was possessed, the priest and several nuns chose to perform an exorcism rather than return her to medical treatment. Irina was restrained, bound to a wooden cross, and kept in isolation while prayers were said. She was given little food or water and died during transport to the hospital. 

The Tanacu exorcism divided Romania. Many saw it as a tragedy of faith overtaking reason, while others believed Irina truly suffered from demonic possession. 

Both cases sit at the intersection of faith, psychology, and ethics. Each asks the same difficult question: when does an exorcism become an act of faith, and when does it become harm?

Tonight, we travel to the deserts of the American Southwest—a place of red stone, endless stars, and ancient stories whispered on the wind. Here, among the Navajo Nation, one of the most chilling legends of all still walks the night: the skinwalker, or as we respectfully call them, flesh pedestrians.

According to Navajo tradition, these beings were once healers who chose the dark path, trading harmony for power. To become one, it’s said a person must commit the unthinkable, kill a close relative, and perform rituals that twist sacred healing into corruption. In return, they gain terrible abilities: shape-shifting into animals, controlling minds, mimicking voices, and spreading illness or death.

They’re most often seen as coyotes, wolves, or human-like creatures moving on all fours or unnaturally upright. Witnesses describe glowing red eyes, scraping noises on roofs and doors, and the unmistakable feeling of being watched. Others speak of mimicry...voices of loved ones calling for help when no one’s there.

True stories come from the heart of Navajo land: a deer that stands on two legs, a fox that runs as fast as a car, lights that flicker in all directions while unseen things laugh in the dark. Some say flesh pedestrians can only be defeated by powerful shamans, or by calling their true name aloud, stripping them of their power.

But this isn’t a story for cheap scares. For the Navajo, this legend is sacred and deeply feared...a warning of imbalance, of what happens when spiritual power is misused. Talking about them casually or disrespectfully is believed to attract their attention.

So when the desert grows quiet, and the night wind begins to sound almost like a voice. Whatever you do, don’t whistle. Don’t stop. And never ever look back.

Imagine waking up in the middle of the night. You can’t move. You can’t breathe. And in the doorway stands a tall, faceless figure, cloaked in darkness, wearing a wide-brimmed hat. He doesn’t flicker or vanish. He just stands there. Watching. Waiting.

Tonight, we’re talking about The Hat Man...a dark presence that thousands around the world claim to have seen. He’s part of the broader “shadow people” phenomenon, but unlike most fleeting shadows, the Hat Man lingers. Always tall, always dressed in black, always wearing that iconic hat.

Across cultures, versions of this entity appear under different names: the Old Hag in Newfoundland, the Pandafeche in Italy, the Karabasan in Turkey, the Pisadeira in Brazil, the Kanashibari of Japan, and the Gawi Nulim of Korea. Every version shares a chilling core: a figure that paralyzes you in your sleep, presses down on your chest, and watches.

Science calls it sleep paralysis, a waking dream where your body is frozen while your mind is alert. But that doesn’t explain why people across continents describe the same figure: a man in a hat. Paranormal researchers believe he’s more than a dream. He maybe a supernatural observer, an inter-dimensional traveler, or a manifestation of fear itself.

Tonight we’re answering the door to one of the internet’s creepiest urban legends: Black Eyed Kids. Picture it—late at night, a soft knock, and two children standing on your porch asking to come inside. Their clothes look slightly off, their voices are weirdly formal, and then you notice the eyes: pitch-black, no whites, no irises. That’s when the hair on the back of your neck stands up.

The modern legend traces back to Abilene, Texas, 1996, when reporter Brian Bethel described a chilling parking-lot encounter. Since then, stories have popped up in parking lots, hotel hallways, and at front doors—always the same pattern: BEKs ask to use a phone or wait for parents, they insist you invite them in, and people report an overwhelming, primal dread. Let them in? Accounts warn of lingering health problems, strange phenomena, or worse.

Explanations run the gamut: internet creepypasta given life, vampires or the undead (they do need an invitation), demons, aliens, or something that feeds on fear. Whatever they are, most agree on one rule of thumb: don’t open the door. Don’t invite them in.

Pittsburgh is a city of contrasts: steel and smoke, wealth and hardship, joy and tragedy. And some of its most famous buildings carry both sides of that story into the present.

First, we step into the gilded halls of the Omni William Penn Hotel, where presidents, celebrities, and high society once gathered for galas and glittering nights. But behind the chandeliers and marble, guests and staff whisper about phantom laughter in the ballrooms, cold spots in empty hallways, and even the ghostly bleats of a panda once linked to a socialite who died there. On the 18th and 22nd floors, footsteps, whispers, and full-bodied apparitions remind us that even the grandest hotels collect their share of shadows.

Then, across town, we enter the stark history of the Allegheny County Morgue. For nearly a century, this was the city’s house of the dead. Every Sunday, families filed past rows of corpses in what newspapers grimly called the Parade of Death. Victims of floods, mine disasters, murders, and accidents all passed through these doors—over 30,000 in total. Today, staff and investigators report voices in empty rooms, drawers slamming on their own, shadowy figures in the basement, and a vaporous form that “slithers” toward the crematory door.

Together, these two places reveal the dual soul of Pittsburgh: elegance and tragedy, laughter and silence, life and death.
