Young and the Restless fans were served with some shocking exits from the show. Michael Muni, who played Adam Newman, and Gina Tognoni, a.k.a. Phyllis Summers, were among the controversial exits. Muni's exit was filled with rumors of inappropriate backstage behavior and a feud with Eric Braeden, who plays Victor Newman. Tognoni's abrupt departure saw Michelle Stafford reassume the role of Phyllis. 

Young and Restless saw Chance Chancellor was recast from Donnie Boaz to Connor Floyd, only for the character to be killed off in August 2025. Lola Rosales, played by Sasha Kajay, left to play Supergirl in The Flash movie. The Newman family also saw two Summer Newman exits, with Hunter King and Allison Lanier leaving the show for different reasons. 

Y&R saw Richard Burgi, who played Ashland Locke, was fired for a misunderstanding of workplace policy. His role was recast with Robert Newman before the character was killed off.
