When we deal with trauma at a young age, it often shows up throughout our lives in ways we can't immediately recognize.

In John Maxwell's "The 360 Degree Leader," he shares a concept called the leadership loop. This concept helps you build your leadership principles and practice so that you are evolving yourself and empowering your team. There are seven principles involved in the loop, and the number one principle is caring.

Caring is a huge part of how I show up as a leader, a coach, and in my own life, and it has been an important ingredient in my success formula. When I get to the essence of my core value of love, caring is the verb I use to express that. If you can assess how you are showing up in a caring way in your leadership stance, then you can begin to learn how to embody this more in your life.

But standing in cancel culture, we need to learn to care for each other first. People are trying to show up in the best way they know how. Most are not malicious, but being called out for being wrong should not be at the detriment of someone else's career. We have to let people make mistakes, love on them anyways, and let them grow from it.

Love is one of my core values, and I try to lean into it in everything that I am. But how do you put some love energy into your business without being too woo-woo or crossing a boundary with it?

So much of our business life is treated as if it has to be professional, unemotional, and detached. But that doesn't contribute to a loving energy, and it doesn't allow you to stand in who you are authentically. You need to embrace love in your business by seeking out soulmate clients.

I have had an interesting start to the year. There have been a number of distractions that popped up, but they haven't been all bad. They have forced me to leverage my time intentionally, in a way that allows me to integrate all of the things that matter to me.

This made me realize that the topic of time management is something that we could all benefit from. When you are feeling the struggle of not having enough time, or not achieving all that you had hoped to by now, it's important to maximize the time you have in order to live the fulfilled life that you want. You can always improve in the journey to mastering your time.

I like to use the last week of the year to hyper-focus on defining who I want to be, what I want to show up in, where I want to have an impact, and what I want to feel by the end of the year. This helps to create a guiding force for all I do, while also defining boundaries on what I say yes to and what I avoid.

The start of this year didn't go quite as I planned, but that has only forced me to sit in the now as I plan out my visualization of 2021. As entrepreneurs, it becomes so easy to focus solely on our business because it blurs lives between personal alignment and income. It's important that we pay attention to all areas of our lives, not just one. Let's look at how we can find integration and balance in our lives so that we can reach our ultimate vision.
