Lagana spent over 30 years in the fire service, first as a volunteer in one of the Nation's busiest Department's, and then as a paramedic and officer throughout his time in service. He discusses the fire service in the 1980's, command and leadership, as well as his role as a Safety Officer managing a Mayday and Line of Duty Death in 2018.

Nature doesn’t adjust to your level of skill, so we must prepare accordingly. We are whole beings, not just singular firefighters. There is a massive physical, mental, and emotional component to what we do and how we are expected to perform. Occupational training, daily workouts, growth mindset leadership lessons, and learning through other people’s experiences, across a wide range of industries will make us more resilient, and harden ourselves to the gray area we operate in on the fireground. Through your support, we will also give back to the profession that has given us so much, through charitable donations and firefighting and fitness equipment. Be more resilient to what life throws at us, be harder to kill, be forged and unbroken.
