In 2020 a former member of Carbon Nation, Mariya Kelly, stabbed her mother in their Cape Coral, Florida home. Nature Boy claimed this had nothing to do with Carbon Nation and Mariya had left the group but her online activity showed otherwise.

More members of the cult came forward and began to tell their stories.

In the Spring of 2022 Eligio Lee Bishop, aka Nature Boy, was arrested in DeKalb County Georgia.
