This week on the show Maine, Josh, and Zak sit down for a remote episode of the show and talk about some classic BJJ matches.  We also sit down with David Aguzzi the CEO of Grappling Industries and talk about how the Coronavirus has affected the promotion.  We also talk about the promotions plans after COVID-19 and some history behind the promotion, how certain big superfights came to be, and the reason for Grappling Industries worlds in 2020. 

In the historic recap section of the show the hosts break down 5 classic matches, Marcelo Garcia vs. Fernando Terere back in 2003 that saw SLX on display, and a great display of gamesmanship and technique from both players.  

We then break down Roger Gracie vs Jacare from the World Finals in 2004 that saw Jacare get his arm broken and continue to win the match.  We talk about the technique behind the armbar and some rule changes that arose from this match, particularly how stalling has changed over the years, potentially as a result of this match. 

In our select open weight match we talk Marcus Almeida "Buchecha" vs. Rodolfo Vieira 2013 Worlds BJJ Black Belt Final we talk about the change in heavyweight meta, how Buchecha is able to sweep from a kneebar entry, and the pace he is able to keep, and how that changed in the next generation of heavyweight grapplers.  

After that we talk about Rafa Mendes Vs Rubens Charles Cobrinha Worlds 2014 Finals one of the many matches in this rivalry a match that ended 10-8 and showcased dynamic 50/50, lapel work, and the old 50/50 meta of that era of BJJ. 

We round out the show with the 2015 match between Michelle Nicolini and Mackenzie Dern at the worlds.  We talk about the style of younger grapplers and relentless offence.  We talk about how Dern used her entries into leg positions to force exchanges, and how her relentlessness eventually lead to the finish in the match. 

After that we sit down with David Aguzzi and talk about all things Grappling Industries.  Maine asks about how certain superfights were made.  David talks about his strategy for moving into new territories.  We talk about Keenan Vs. and the hype surrounding the match, and some of the thought behind why certain matches are made in certain regions.  David talks about how COVID -19 has affected upcoming events and how the promotion is selling lifetime passes to compete in their events.  David talks about providing for his staff in this time and how they are going to use this time to improve the promotion.  We also talk about his plans and roadmap for Grappling Industries worlds that had been scheduled for Dallas later in the year.

In the outro section of the show the hosts talk about what they are planning to do this week while quarantined.
