This week on another quarantine remote recording of the Grappling Rewind Maine and Emil break down and recap Submission Underground 12 Headlined by Craig Jones vs. Kevin Casey.   Plus the weeks COVID -19 BJJ news.

In the news section we talk about Mikey Musumeci and Tammy Musumeci leaving Caio Terra Association for an unknown team or affiliation seemingly out of the blue. We talk about some instructional giveaways.  The State of Maryland going shelter in place with Coronavirus.  We also talk about the cursed UFC matchup between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov being cancelled due to global pandemic after being booked a 5th time.  We also talk about Jon Jones latest run in with the law and his Tequila and firearm fueled arrest.  

In the recap section of the show we talk about the main event and co-main event of Submission Underground 12 (SUG) that saw the Australian leg locker Craig Jones heel hook his way to victory over Kevin Casey in under 3 minutes.  Maine and Emil talk about some of the stand up and escape sequences in this match and Jones textbook tested entry that saw him walk away with the finish.  In the co-main event we break down 

Ben Egli Mir lock from the triangle position win over Jake Ellenberger.  We talk about the excellent use of the Kimura trap, how the transition for the finish happened, and Maine talks about how this particular sub put the opponent between a rock and a hard place working as a combo threat.  

We also talk about the event as a whole and how surreal it was to watch well produced grappling with no audience, and other people in attendance.  

After that we move into the planning section of the show talking about some proposed upcoming content for the Grappling Rewind and ask the listeners of the show what matches or what content that they want to hear on the show.  Maine and Emil propose a number of topics including David vs. Goliath matches and times that the little guys have won in the absolute and what techniques they used to win.

We discuss the possibility of breaking down X choke from mount AKA Roger Gracie’s insane run at worlds.  We talk about covering more historic matches like we had done in the past.  We also discuss Kyra Gracie championship run at 3 different ADCC events.  

In the outro of the show Maine and Emil talk plans for shelter in place and how much training Maine is doing at his house.
