This week on the show Maine and Emil recap 5 great matches from BJJ yesteryear, and recap the weeks BJJ news.

In the news section of the show we talk about Marcello Garcia potentially returning to ADCC in either 2021 or 2023 and his interview where he made the announcement.

In the Historical match recap we take a look at Marcello Garcia vs Ricco Rodriguez at ADCC 2005 we talk about Marcello’s back take and slam that he eats on his way to heel hook victory over the giant.  

We talk about how the Kron Gracie vs Marcus Alameda Buchecha at Pans 2012 that saw kneebar entries from Buchecha and Kron and we talk about how the pacing and areas this match were fought is great for tape study.   We talk about entries and gripping sequences and gripping with a purpose that was on display in this match.  

In the next match we recap Garry Tonon vs Rousimar Palhares at Polaris 3 we talk about the change in leg lock meta over the years, and some of the historical context behind this match, as well as the lead up to this match.  Maine and Emil discuss the various high points of the match and the variety of entries we see from both entires.  We also discuss the visible differences in entries between both grapplers and how the styles are suited to each grappler.  Plus the fact that this match is one of the best grappling matches of all time. 

In the next matches we discuss the 2012 and 2014 matches between Andre Galvao vs Rodolfo Vieira at world pro this match sees changes in both grapples games but much of the same, dynamic passing from Rodolfo and active work from the bottom from Andre.  We discuss combination passing and how styles of matchups change and stay the same over the years.  

In the outro of the show we tease next weeks show where we will talk about the greatest BJJ beat downs on film and give us an excuse to talk about some of the most famous prolonged one sided matches in BJJ history.  

We also talk about training and working out in quarantine and our plans for after quarantine.
