There's so much separation being created right now teaching and preaching that spirituality/new age isn't of God. That you need to choose a side and renounce and rebuke anything outside of the Bible if you truly want to connect with him.

While I don't believe that all spiritual practices serve us (I'm going to record a podcast on this next week so make sure you're subscribed) there are many practices that help us connect more to our soul and to God. God is in all things or in nothing.
