Anne Bland gets curious about what is a "modern man." What does it look like to be a man in his power as a leader in society and in relationships sexually as well? What does it mean to be a conscious, spiritually awakened, and very sexy man? Anne invites Mikey Brackett to discuss what the "modern man" looks like and why the "Warrior archetype" can be, from the Jungian Psychology point of view, harmful to men and their loved ones. The Warrior is part of four main masculine archetypes. The other three are the King, The Magician, and the Lover. The Warrior can become overly protective and dominating when it is compensating the fear of not being enough which is the core wound most men have. Once these archetypes are integrated fully into a man's psyche, on his spiritual quest he can embody each one of them in a way that brings hope, celebration, curiosity and openness, love and connection to the relationships and to the world.
The book Mikey mentions is "King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine" by Robert Moore.
