Markets rallied again on Monday, but the trend is for lower highs and lower lows. While the market, per se, is not "bearish" at this point, this pattern that is developing certainly has some bearish tendencies. This would suggest some exhaustion in the markets, despite positive money flows (which are declining). The last half of February, statistically, is typically fairly weak. So, these developing patterns would suggest seeing some weakness in the markets over the next couple of weeks. The S&P 100-DMA is sitting at 5900 with its pullback from 6000; that's going to awaken investors, given the amount of FOMO on Wall Street of late. There is nothing overly concerning that would trigger making any radical portfolio changes, but the creeping in of weakness should not be ignored. The US Dollar is very close to triggering a buy signal following its correction. If you haven't liked the way your portfolio has been performing recently, now would be a good time to take a critical look at rebalancing risk.
