Markets broke the 100-DMA again Wednesday morning, but closed back above it by the end of the day. This illustrates the wisdom of allowing markets to mature before making any knee-jerk response (see today's Daily Market Commentary). We've had a very small correction, and markets are getting over sold, sentiment is very negative, and on a contrarian basis, we're getting set up for a pretty decent rally over the next couple of weeks. Too much negative bias generally turns into a market reaction which reverses that sentiment. Meanwhile, Bonds have enjoyed a nice rally, with a near 8% lead over stocks so far this year, but we're expecting a pullback as economic data continues to weaken. Bitcoin yesterday challenged its 200-DMA, and bounced off; think of Bitcoin as a proxy for risk. While the S&P has had a 3% decline, Bitcoin has had a 15% drop. A rally in Bitcoin would serve as a risk-on proxy, and translate back into higher prices for the S&P 500.
