It's been a little over two years since the Uvalde tragedy, and yet, here we are again. Another school shooting—this time not far from my home, just 40 minutes from where I live in Georgia. This isn't just a news headline anymore; it's a painful reality, one that we keep reliving.
Why can’t we find a solution to gun violence that actually works? Why do we keep doing the same things and expecting different results? Today, I’m revisiting an episode that asked a bold question: Is the private sector the key to ending gun violence?
Interestingly, an Atlanta-based company provided devices that helped mitigate the damage in this most recent tragedy, which brings me to a bigger question: Are we really leaving this fight to tech solutions alone? Is that enough?
I challenge my fellow entrepreneurs, innovators, and capitalists to think bigger. We can’t keep leaving this issue to policy makers alone. But, at the same time, I’m also calling for real, meaningful change in our laws. We need action from every side. Something has to change. And it has to happen now.
As Einstein once said, “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.” Let's stop the madness.
